Graduate Lighting Designer 2
CurrentResponsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:Determining Design Standards and Goals:- Establish appropriate design standards for illuminance and uniformity based on IES recommendations.- Assist in selecting suitable luminaire options and specify them in a luminaire schedule.Graphic Support:- Provide graphic support to the senior lighting designer by creating visual presentations using software such as PowerPoint, Bluebeam, InDesign, Photoshop, AGI32, or other methods to illustrate design concepts for client meetings.Luminaire Layouts and Calculations:- Assist in creating luminaire layouts and conduct illuminance calculations using AGI32 software.- Draft lighting layouts that incorporate basic control sensors and document lighting control sequences of operations and zone schedules in Revit or, less frequently, in AutoCAD.Coordination with Engineering Teams:- Collaborate with electrical engineering teams on circuiting, emergency lighting, and energy code documentation (ComCheck), as well as with other engineering teams.- Coordinate with luminaire and controls representatives to gather product information and pricing.Collaboration with Design Teams:- Correspond and coordinate with interior designers and architects throughout the project.- Actively participate and contribute to the local section of the Illuminating Engineering Society.Site Visits and Mockups:- Attend project job site visits to review existing conditions or luminaire/control installations.- Assist in creating and attending luminaire mockups, either in the office or at project job sites.
