Erkan Emre, has been eating döner since his childhood in Berlin. Upon relocating to New York City, he discovered there was nowhere to satisfy his craving for Berliner Döner Kebab. The only solution was to bring döner to New York City himself. He quit his job. "I did not want to be 70 years of age and look back and regret I did not try something new in life. I simply did not want to be possessed by things or a sense of comfort. So I maxed my credit card and gave up a familiar professional work environment in the pursuit of something new. What inspires me is the journey and the many encounters that enrich my life." Its first foray was Smorgasburg, Brooklyn’s premier outdoor food festival, where Kotti was chosen from hundreds of applicants. Catering to an expanding health-conscious consumer base seeking nutritious, sustainable, and delicious food that is good for them and the planet, Kotti uses only antibiotic-free meats, local produce and a rainbow of nutritious vegetables. Following its successful summer stint at Smorgasburg, the Kotti team is excited to share this new multi-cultural street food at 4 permanent locations across Brooklyn and Manhattan with other locations currently in the pipeline. Erkan Emre serves as Senior Vice President at Heights Real Estate Advisors (HREA). HREA has been the lead investor in more than $1 billion in real estate investments, including projects such as Richard Meier's "On Prospect Park", "The Dillon" and the re-purposing of a high school in Philadelphia to name a few. He is currently managing over 300,000 square feet of development with an aggregate sales volume projected to exceed $250mm. Mr. Emre has over 14 years of experience with renowned U.S. architectural firms whose global portfolios include institutional, governmental, academic, medical, commercial, hospitality, industrial, and large urban development projects. Prior to Heights, Mr. Emre served as a Lead Project Architect for Ennead Architects where he was responsible for the design of projects in the U.S., China, Turkey, Spain, and Germany.

Powell Hall; NYU Tisch Institute of the Performing Arts and Brooklyn Museum of Art, Hall of the Americas.He was the recipient of the Atkins Memorial Fund for Excellence in Design Development and the Stabile Endowed Scholarship for Outstanding Design. Erkan’s design work has been exhibited at the Pratt Institute Architecture Design Exhibition and the Hammerstein Gallery in New York City. He has been a guest speaker/visiting juror at the Atlantik-Brücke Conference on Global Warming in Louisville, Kentucky, the Pratt Institute School of Architecture.
