Work closely with state and federal agencies, following strict regulations within time and budgetary guidelines. 2010 – 2015• Installed and operated a full-scale pilot treatment system under the scrutiny of CDPHE and EPA for the injection of treatment reagents and the disposal of collected water contaminated with cadmium, arsenic, and zinc. This demonstrated the achievement of soils and groundwater treatment objectives pursuant to standards set in the site Consent Decree Modification for a multi-million dollar smelter site remediation program. Amendment of the collected groundwater with mixtures of sugars and alcohols attained the stringent treatment objective of 0.005 mg/L cadmium during the year-long test program. • Project included the design and construction of an extraction, dosing, and re-injection system that included metering pumps, transfer pumps, flow meters, a programmable logic controller, data logger, and other water treatment equipment. • Project management responsibilities included budget oversight, project scheduling, and maintaining scope of the overall project to keep it within initial estimates.The site has now been d-listed on the National Priorities List2009 – 2019• Designed and managed an underground mine pool treatment program and a sludge transfer system from initial concept through build and operation under the scrutiny of EPA. Initial design challenges included moving 9,100 yd3 iron-hydroxide sludge 2,500 feet with a 90 foot elevation gain. The sludge was amended with a carbon source as it was transferred into the abandoned mine decline. The final design was a complex transfer system that included an 85kW generator, multiple dredging units, transfer pumps, flow meters, pressure sensors, and data loggers.

• Managed $1.2M program through the design and development of an inductive (cable transmission) bed-side communication device that transmits data from an implanted pacemaker or defibrillator. The product was successfully transitioned to Penang, Malaysia for volume manufacturing with estimated sales of $14M/year. It was designed to IEC 60601-1 2nd ed., IEC 60950, and ISO 13485 FDA standards. • Day-to-day project management tasks included overseeing project budget, project scope, authoring change requests for work outside the initial contract, providing client with weekly status, and maintaining project schedule through design reviews and payment milestones.

2006 – 2007• Lead Mechanical Engineer on a $3.5M development of a blood glucose meter which released into production in June 2009 at volumes of 2 million units/yr.2006 – 2007• Lead Mechanical Engineer on a $2.6M development of an RF (wireless transmission) bed-side communication device that transmits data from an implanted pacemaker or defibrillator. The product was transitioned to Penang, Malaysia for volume manufacturing with estimated sales of $50M/year. 2001 – 2006• Mechanical Engineer on multiple projects within the Wireline / Wireless, Industrial, and Medical sectors for a variety of clients. Designed products that contained: Aluminum Die Casting, Plastic Injection Molding, Sheet-metal, Mill and Lathe Machining, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance, and Quality Assurance / Control.
