With 20+ years of experience working in IT, roughly a decade was spent by the keyboard developing with C# and .NET and later specializing in front-end engineering, primarily within banking and finance but also consulting for a handful of startup companies.Taking on an IT management role in 2017 for a bank in Sweden (~81,000 customers) meant I would retire from hands-on development, but instead I was responsible for managing the development and maintenance of a number of internal systems with a primary focus on the public website and the online banking platform while also implementing the PSD2 directive. I am used to working in a strongly regulated environment, adapting to and following the strict workflows mandated in such an environment. I have a broad knowledge of IT, a good understanding of system architecture, experience in digital product ownership and first-hand experience of the intricacies of development and co-dependencies of systems.Having moved back to Iceland in 2019, I'm now responsible for most of the IT at Orkusalan with its ~30,000 customers purchasing electricity for their homes and businesses.

Co-Founder, Web DeveloperIceland Information Technology May 1998 - Jul 2001Iceland Information Technology was a company which I co-founded in 1998, while still attending high-school. Working passionately part-time, we established a good reputation in our local market which at the time had a lot more projects than providers. The company was later acquired by a newspaper publishing company, which took on the name and had me on as a full-time employee after my studies at Reykjavik University.Responsibilities as an employee included graphic design (primarily for websites) and front-end website coding with HTML and CSS. The flagship product of the company was a CMS-system for websites, for which I worked on system designs (including database and query designs) and coded a part of the CMS-system top to bottom using MS SQL-queries, ASP (VBScript), HTML, CSS and pretty heavy Javascript. My work for Iceland Information Technology ended when I moved to Florida to earn my degree in Digital Media.
