Trace is a clever GDPR / CCPA compliance and visual reporting platform, delivering good governance and is suitable for law firms and organisations alike for protecting, visualising and tracking personal data. My role at Trace was turning UI design into code, while tackling some of the UX-challenges we ran into after building prototypes. Working closely with the IT Architect, I also consulted on aspects of information design and system architecture.

As a Development Manager, my responsibilities include leading development and improvements to Landshypotek Banks digital channels, including (but not limited to) Online Banking, the public website, the intranet as well as a handful of internal applications used by employees.Evaluating and optimizing the platforms, ensuring stability through (automated) active monitoring and improvements while taking into account organizational requirements. Another aspect of this role is contributing to old and new application requirements (system and non-functional) given the identified business requirements while leveraging these with proper security measures and maintaining a simple, pleasant user experience. This role also includes assisting with maintenance incidents related to each platform, evaluating the scope and impact on users and customers and deciding on the proper way to handle these.

Taking part in a startup is exciting - my responsibilities at VROOMO included brand design, identity and styling, giving the brand a voice and a personality as well as writing much of the content and information laid out on the website for customers to understand the services VROOMO had to offer.As usual, my main contribution included drafting and prototyping the user interface for the application. I would then work with a small team in implement the UI using responsive markup and CSS, while developing functional modules using Javascript and jQuery.

Expanding on my experience with international projects, my position at Össur has me doing front-end engineering for the multitude of local websites Össur has in each country. I also do a lot of design work for new websites and product specific projects, transforming designs into code and hooking templates up to work with a preferred content management system. Evangelizing web standards, non-obtrusive use of Javascript, semantic markup and distinction between content and presentation.Technologies include jQuery, (X)HTML, CSS and the use of the LiSA content management system.

Front-end engineer working on the domestic Online Banking application of Kaupthing Bank. Responsibilities included overseeing design amendments, the website UI, implementing the YUI-framework into the application and forming the application's future vision and guidelines for UI, web standards and usability.

Team leader of a team of 6 talented developers, occasionally putting on my front-end engineering hat. This team worked on an international online banking application that had to sustain an amazing pace of development and deployment. Challenges included doing the aforementioned with several websites in foreign languages, working with clients across timezones and multiple countries, profiling client needs, documenting them and executing in record time.Other responsibilities included keeping the team motivated under extreme circumstances and long hours, managing and reporting time and attendance of all team members and overseeing the overall design and usability of application forms and other elements during development.

My initial role at Kaupthing Bank was software design with emphasis on User Interface Design and front-end engineering. Working on the Online Banking application for Kaupthing demanded great attention to details, careful implementation of features and thoughtful design. I learned a lot about website forms, their implementation, design considerations, accessibility concerns and feedback to users.Technologies I worked with included Microsoft ASP.NET (webpages coded in C#), HTML, CSS and Javascript. In 2007, I also took on the role of Assistant Team Lead for the Online Banking-project which had me keeping track of work progress of a team of ~10 talented programmers, resolving impediments and doing feature assessment to prepare and schedule version launches (inspired by and working according to the Agile methodology).

Having recently graduated, I took on a job at Nepal Software that had me juggling multiple responsibilities, including web development, graphic design and settings up web templates to work with the Nepal CMS system. Other duties included project scoping and management, face-to-face meetings with potential clients, collecting project requirements and consolidating project information into bids with a budget schedule. I also educated new and existing clients on how the Nepal CMS system works, with on-site seminars and personal assistance.

Co-founded Iceland's first online dating website with three friends from Reykjavik University. Although acquired by an investor just two years after launching, the website is firmly rooted and still running 20+ years later.

Iceland Information Technology was a company which I co-founded in 1998, while still attending high-school. Working passionately part-time, we established a good reputation in our local market which at the time had a lot more projects than providers. The company was later acquired by a newspaper publishing company, which took on the name and had me on as a full-time employee after my studies at Reykjavik University.Responsibilities as an employee included graphic design (primarily for websites) and front-end website coding with HTML and CSS. The flagship product of the company was a CMS-system for websites, for which I worked on system designs (including database and query designs) and coded a part of the CMS-system top to bottom using MS SQL-queries, ASP (VBScript), HTML, CSS and pretty heavy Javascript. My work for Iceland Information Technology ended when I moved to Florida to earn my degree in Digital Media.
