Erman Caudill – As a brief introduction: I’m a Civil Engineer with over 20 years of experience, primarily in water resources consulting. I maintain my professional engineer (PE) license in 5 states (KY, TN, AL, IA, and TX) and have a national certified floodplain manager (CFM) designation through ASFPM. I’m also a member of ASCE and ASDSO. My professional interests these days are primarily related to hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using GIS, with emphasis on dams and levees. Recent projects include spillway capacity assessments for dams, interior drainage analyses and riverine hydraulics for levees, levee inspections, levee pump stations, flood risk reduction, and dam breach/inundation projects. Beyond that, I also have a great technical background in water modeling using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, etc. and cross over into civil site design using Civil3D, AutoCad, MicroStation, InRoads, and Terramodel. I’ve worked on a number of coal combustion residual (CCR) management projects in various capacities, so I’m well versed in that arena as well. I’ve worked for FEMA, USACE, TVA, and several other noteworthy clients. I have extensive experience and training in project management, but my role lately has typically been more of a Technical Lead with emphasis on executing technically complicated assignments and tasks and managing quality control. I came to Lexington to attend the University of KY and have been here since. My wife, Andrea, and I have 4 wonderful children that occupy every minute of our free time, but we’re OK with that. She’s currently a part-time preschool teacher and full time mom, while I do what I can to keep up with everyone. We’re active in church and like to travel when we can. We try to always be humble and never forget how blessed we are as our family motto.
