As a sales manager selling for 14+ hotels in the Chicago area, I worked on connecting and fostering relationships with both corporate and social clients. In this role, I focused on group sales inquiries for meetings up to 150 people and managed several corporate accounts. I exceeded my 2019 individual sales goal by 111% and have booked over 1000 meetings for my clients in a 2-year period. I was responsible for building brand loyalty and also had the opportunity to lead other sales managers as chair of the new-hire training program. Along with my job responsibilities, I was treasurer of the office’s CMN chapter and created the weekly office newsletter to relay essential news to 150+ associates.

At the end of the 2020 college admissions cycle, I was brought onto the Alma College admissions team to assist with undergrad recruitment. I focused on students located in the Detroit area, and was able to help the team exceed their 2020 goal. This opportunity was very exciting for me to take on, as it exposed me to an entirely new career field and allowed me to develop my communication skills. Communicating virtually was a crucial component to the job, as the majority of my time working took place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, I was able to connect with 100+ students to assist with their college search.

As a Resident Assistant for 2 years at my alma mater, I facilitated with the social, academic, and personal adjustment of attending college for 54 students. I helped establish a community through inclusive programming for both lower and upperclassmen. Another responsibility with this role was to maintain a safe living environment and monitor disturbances in the dorm building. Through this role, I am QPR certified, trained in Title IX, Safe Zone, and Diversity and Inclusion programming.

In the summer of 2017, I was selected for Sam Club’s 10-week field internship. The internship is an intensive leadership program that focuses on all of the aspects of a retail market. I had the opportunity to learn every career area of Sam’s Club, such as shipping/receiving, front office, floor, and fresh. I spent the majority of my time with the sales and marketing team, which focused on membership sales to local businesses and clients. The internship experience included 2 larger projects, both focused on client engagement. I led a team of 4 interns, located throughout Michigan, to conduct a customer survey to discover how our client’s engaged with the Sam’s Club business model. We then used the data gathered to evaluate what our individual stores could do to increase sales and improve shopping experiences company-wide. The second project I focused on was developing an associate training program designed to increase the customer adoption rate of Sam’s Club’s new shopping app. The results of this program were presented to Sam’s Club’s leadership team in a competition with other intern groups. We won the competition and our program was rolled out to 600+ clubs in the United States.
