As the I.T. Director for Aspen View, my focus is to ensure the effective, efficient, timely and secure delivery of I.T. services which provide the best possible value to the organization. Working as a member of the senior executive team, I ensure the technology plan aligns with Aspen View's educational vision and goals. I manage four technical staff members and an overall budget of approximately two million dollars providing enterprise I.T. services to over 3500 users and 2500+ devices in a dozen geographically diverse locations. Unwavering determination, innovative ideas and the ability to think "outside the box" are critical to my success in meeting the organization's I.T. needs with limited staffing and budget. My diverse experience, training and ITIL Foundation 2011 certification have allowed me to become the well rounded I.T. leader I am today.During my time with Sasktel, I put my skills in computer engineering, electronics and programming to use by designing and developing several applications which bridged the gap between the telephony and traditional I.T. world including: An application to automate the tracking of employees working on equipment throughout the province as well as an application built on a small budget of under $10K to allow Sasktel to migrate telephone switch data into a relational database where a million+ dollar 3rd party system had failed.Technology has been my passion since my early teens. At age 14, I was introduced to my first computer system, a Commodore 64 and from that point on my career path was clear. Over the years I have built a wealth of knowledge over a diverse range of areas including: computer hardware, network design and implementation for both LAN and WAN, server infrastructure (Windows and Novell), software development in a multitude of languages including: Basic, Visual Basic, Assembly, C/C++, Java, web development (both front and backend) in languages including: PHP, Ruby, Perl, ASP.net, HTML, Javascript.
