From October 2006 through September 2016, I was the Science Operations Center (SOC) manager for the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC). My initial role was to develop the requirements for the LROC SOC, design an implementation of software, personnel and procedures to meet those requirements. This process included writing documentation, both internal and as deliverables to the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission, and required undergoing a peer review to insure a sound design. Development work included staff hiring and training, preparations for mission testing, and insuring development meet all mission milestones prior to launch. After launch, my role was to insure the LROC instrument operations acquired images to meet our mission success criteria, including delivery of our image products to the NASA Planetary Data System (PDS). The LROC team has returned over 750 GBytes of lunar imagery to the PDS.As of September 2016, I am leading the ground system development for the Mastcam-Z camera which will be on the next Martian rover - Mars 2020. I'll be leveraging my LROC experience to help the Mastcam-Z team meet an aggressive operational plan to document and acquire twenty martian samples, to be returned by a future Mars mission. In addition to the Mars 2020 development, ASU has been selected to lead the Psyche mission, which will visit the asteroid 16 Psyche. ASU will host the mission science data center, tasked with processing all returned data from the instrument suite, generate PDS data products and disseminate to their respective instrument teams. The data products will then be archived with the NASA PDS.As of January 2017, I am now also involved with the NASA Psyche Discovery Mission, which will explore the asteroid 16 Psyche in the late 2020's. Developing the Psyche Science Data Center and support for the Multispectral Imager on the mission.

Primary responsibilities was the initial development efforts for the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera (LROC) Science Operations Center (SOC). Key tasks included: development of SOC requirements documentation, developing project timeline and tasks, education of NWU IT staff on planetary science, NASA spacecraft mission, Planetary Data System (PDS) standards, developing IT infrastructure, developing physical infrastructure and development of staffing plan. Also tasked with development of SOC migration plan of LROC SOC from Northwestern University to Arizona State University.

Primary responsibilities are maintaining a consistent, stable and secure UNIX and Windows computing environment for the Astrogeology Team, and maintaining network security and services at the Flagstaff Science Center (FSC). The FSC maintains a high speed switched Ethernet LAN, which supports over 500 computers and 200 users, throughout five locations.

Manage and support the Department of Physics computing and networking infrastructure, with emphasis on the departments UNIX systems and LAN network. The Department of Physics maintains a high speed switched Ethernet LAN, that supports over 580 computers, with 600 users spread across three locations.

Flagstaff, Arizona Area

Responsibilities included management and support of UNIX systems within the Branch of Astrogeology, Western Regional Geology and the Office of Program Support (50 UNIX systems, 54 X-Terminals and assorted peripherals), management and support of the Flagstaff Field Center’s TCP/IP Ethernet LAN and providing technical support for 163 users.
