Ernest Sumani is a seasoned Local Government and Governance practitioner of over 20 years’ experience as a Principal Officer for various Local Authorities in Zambia who has worked extensively in interventions to promote citizen participation in developmental matters aimed at improving their living standards and thus reduce poverty. Later, he managed the GIZ, and USAID supported Local Government Association of Zambia (LGAZ) COVID-19 advisory centre for Local Authorities as a Consultant coordinator providing technical support to the 116 Local Authorities in Zambia in aspects of preparedness, response, and recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is prior to working as a consultant for the for the GIZ and LGAZ on risk communication and community engagement, governance and capacity building relating to COVID-19 vaccination.
