• Provided guidance and leadership while working with multiple departments to deliver EPIC Healthy Planet reporting to a usable state for AHS Accountable Care Organization (ACO). The project had been stalled for two years prior to my involvement due to the different teams' inability to understand the various requirements. I was able to work collaboratively with all parties to assimilate everyone's requirements and build the necessary data feeds using Python and SQL to get the project over the finish line.• Responsible for building data models using Python and SQL in our AWS data warehouse allowing for standardized reporting around several clinical areas of content, and the ETL to keep them updated.• Developed several Python programs to extract clinical data using SQL which are deliver regularly to multiple clients including ACO partners, external marketing vendors and multiple internal departments.• Automated several manual processes using a combination of Python, SQL and Power BI Dashboards.

• Led Kaiser South Bay Medical Center away from manual reporting and transitioned to automated Tableau dashboards to increase efficiency and productivity.• Responsible for a team of 3 that supported all of the medical center’s data and reporting needs. Created and managed data request queue in MS SharePoint and ensured client satisfaction. Provided mentorship and education to report writers with no previous experience in EPIC/Clarity.• Organized and centralized multiple data sources using SQL and Tableau to provide a one stop shop of basic performance metrics for managers to monitor their departmental performance. Developed operational leadership dashboards to help monitor and track medical center performance.• Worked closely with Performance Improvement Department to develop custom Tableau dashboards to monitor and improve Environmental Service and Transportation turn-around time, which provided never seen before transparency within the department as well as externally.

• Implemented financial model using SQL in our Oracle database to predict cash flow based on charges for any given time period. • Built several Business Object universes around clinical information, allowing business users to build and run their own ad hoc queries. • Developed extensive Crystal and Webi Reports for several EPIC modules. For example:- Developed Heparin and Warfarin utilization reports to monitor clinical quality and performance.- Developed IRF-PAI report for rehabilitation patients to allow for easier reporting to CMS. - Developed multiple reports to identify cohorts of patients for outreach, research and follow-up based on diagnosis or procedures performed.

•Built reports analyzing yearly cost increases and identified cost mitigation strategies by looking at DRG cost trending and vendor breakdowns.•Conceived of user friendly, quick and efficient system that pulled data from multiple sources using Access linked to Excel that allowed mangers to created detailed reports on expenses.•Built outside medical reports that trended dollars, number of claims, rate and budget using MS Access & Excel pivot tables.•Identified $300,000 in potential savings by proactively gathering outside medical cost information and analyzing data, finding trends and drivers behind the numbers.

•Saved 200 + labor hours through implementation of mass substitution functionality in EPIC Optime and eliminating need for manual changes.•Created SEAMTRACK program highlighting key areas of savings in surgery department. Kaiser Permanente has implemented a system based on my project across California.•Trained staff how to use PeopleSoft and insured they met requirements for ordering, stocking, and scheduling all vendors for surgery department.•Developed extensive SQL Clarity reports which I used to manage local Optime initiative to update surgeon preference cards and increased accuracy to 100%.•Collaborated with leadership and OR nurses, to significantly decrease case cart errors to less than .01%.•Reduced process for getting items added to EPIC Optime from several months to one week.•Detailed rationale for $7.5 million budget increase in 2011 for Perioperative Department by compiling and analyzing data.•Created inventory map and par levels for all items found in central sterilization and operating room.

•Used resource description framework and semantic web technologies to research and analyze strategies to combine data from multiple medical research databases.•Integrated several OWL databases from Yale SenseLab, UCSD’s Cell Centered Database, and other university programs using Oracle’s 11g OWL capabilities.•Built a Web/Ajax interface used to view integrated ontologies.•Contributed to several publications by building models that proved concepts outlined in articles.
