- Financial Management: Responsible for budgeting and budget tracking, oversight ofbookkeeping and audits, maintenance of records, grant tracking and reporting, and financial reporting to the Board of Directors and granting agencies.- Personnel Management: Responsible for guiding the work of full and part-time employees, staff hiring, staff training, evaluations, benefits development, and implementing established personnel policies. - Fundraising: Responsible for assuring sufficient funds are available for station operationsthrough grant writing and reporting, maintaining relationships with granting agencies and organizations, donor development, and overseeing the work of the station's Development Coordinator which includes membership development, donor cultivation and recognition, and fundraising events.- Operations: Responsible for station programming, local program production,news producers, and compliance with FCC regulations. The GM is responsible for assuring maintenance and operability of broadcast equipment, and the maintenance and improvement of the station's facilities which include a studio/office building and transmitter site. Operational needs require the GM to develop, implement, and oversee various service contracts. The GM has principal responsibility for the station's IT infrastructure and maintaining and developing the station's website and other "new media." The GM is responsible for staying up-to-date with trends in technology, media, and public broadcasting.Community Outreach: Represents the station to the local community and is responsible forassuring KTSU is responsive to local community needs and concerns. The GM guides station outreach to members, listeners, and the community at large. The GM proactively interacts with local businesses, organizations, schools, and government agencies and institutions to articulate KTSU's mission, policies,and strategic direction, and to build collaborative relationships with these entities.

- Create, communicate, and implement the vision, mission, and overall direction.- Lead, guide, direct, and evaluate the work of other executive leaders and staff. - Formulate and implement the strategic plan that guides the direction of the Walker Entertainment Group.- Form, staff, guide, lead, and manage the organization sufficient to accomplish the strategic plan of the business.- Oversee the complete operation of the organization in accordance with the direction established in the strategic plans.- Evaluate the success of the organization.- Maintain awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards.- Represents the organization in civic and professional association responsibilities and activities in the local community, the state, and at the national level.

The Gospel Music Heritage Month Foundation was established several years ago to celebrate and educate people everywhere about the rich heritage of the gospel music genre through word and song. In 2008, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) and Senator Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) led the passing of a resolution in both chambers declaring September as “Gospel Music Heritage Month”. In each year since its establishment, both local and global celebrations have been held to educate and entertain diverse audiences with the rich history and legacy of gospel. The celebration, EVOLUTION OF GOSPEL, is a star-studded and foot-stomping event, celebrating the history of gospel music. Its format tells the story of gospel through narration and song, beginning with the Middle Passage, and it winds its path through gospel voices like Thomas Dorsey and Walter Hawkins. It spotlights the narrative with performances by our nation’s top traditional and contemporary gospel artists. Additionally, the Foundation honors individuals whose work and devotion to gospel music have resulted in world-wide exposure of the art form. Gospel music roots run deep into the foundation of America. Its sound, soul and spirit have inspired some of the biggest names within secular music like Al Green, Alan Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Mariah Carey, Marvin Gaye, Randy Travis, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, and Whitney Houston, among many others. These artists have borrowed gospel from the pews of churches and transported it to the stages of many nations, breaking cultural, religious and geographical boundaries with a message that ignites faith, love and hope.
