About Ernesto Jose Hoffmann
I am truly passionate about Family Medicine education, knowing it is crucial for building strong Primary Care Systems and improving community health outcomes. With a background as a Family Physician (2008), a Master's in Health Sciences (2010), and a PhD in Health Sciences (2016) from State University of Montes Claros - Unimontes, my career has focused on preparing future physicians to excel in primary care and preventive medicine, key pillars of public health systems like Brazil’s SUS (Sistema Unico de Saude). During my PhD, I dedicated my research to continuing medical education, aiming to enhance the skills and effectiveness of family physicians, as I believe empowering frontline professionals is key to building a stronger healthcare workforce. This experience further fueled my passion for advancing medical education and also supporting the professional growth of those who teach the next generation of healthcare providers.As the Coordinator of the Family Medicine Residency Program in Votuporanga, I led the creation of the program from the ground up, including curriculum development and securing government accreditation. I also serve as a Medical School Professor at UNIFEV - Centro Universitario de Votuporanga and as a Tutor for the 'Medicos pelo Brasil' Program, mentoring physicians who prioritize preventive, community-based care.I am driven by a strong belief in the power of medical education to shape effective primary care providers who can lead in population health management.
