Making an impact…It’s easy to say but only a few of us in this space have the experience and resume to say they have.My father, Dr. Ernest Bates, founded the company in 1980. Originally started as a mobile imaging business, ASHS expanded from diagnosis to treatment of cancer patients with the placement of its 1st Gamma Knife in the early 1990s. Dr. Bates, a neurosurgeon, realized early on the enormous benefits of treating brain cancer patients non-invasively with the Gamma Knife vs. conventional surgery. His pioneering vision has culminated in the company installing and/or upgrading over 40 Gamma Knife units since placing that original system.What ASHS does is straightforward. ASHS invests the capital required for the technology our hospital partners need today and provides the tools they need to create successful programs.
