As the Technical Director & Set Designer for CitiArts Theatre in Concord, CA, I was responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of two productions in the 1993 season: Noises Off and A my name is Alice. Noises Off was a comedy that required a complex set that could rotate and show both the front and back of a stage. A my name is Alice was a musical revue that featured different scenes and songs by women. I collaborated with the directors, actors, and crew to create sets that matched the artistic vision and budget of each show. I also supervised the construction, installation, and operation of the sets, lighting, sound, and special effects. I ensured that all technical elements were safe and functional. I also solved any technical problems that arose during rehearsals or performances. I enjoyed working on both shows and received positive feedback from the audiences and critics.

As the Eureka Theater's Technical Director in 1990-1991, I played a vital role in the success of a regional theater in San Francisco. I oversaw the entire technical process, from designing and building sets, lights and sound, to installing and running them during the shows, to dismantling and storing them afterwards. I led a team of competent technicians and collaborated with the directors, designers and stage managers of each production. I led a team of technical theater artisans at George Coates Performance Works in 1989 and 1990. George Coates was a pioneer in multimedia theater, combining live performance, video, music, and special effects. One of his works was "Architecture of Catastrophic Change", inspired by the 1989 San Francisco earthquake. The show used projections, masks, costumes, and sounds to explore chaos and transformation.

As the assistant technical director of "The Right Mind", I participated in the creative process of bringing Charles Dodgson's writings to life on stage. The multi-media theater performance explored the themes of logic and imagination in Dodgson's works, such as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. We experimented with various surfaces and materials to create visuals with analog projections that interacted with light and sound. We used large props, such as weather balloons, to create a fantastical and immersive experience for the audience. I also collaborated with the ACT union scene shop and trained the stage crew on how to operate the production scenery during technical rehearsals at ACT.
