As a Senior Engineering Technician, develops original technical documentation and updates procedures for operation, testing, and maintenance of naval ship HM&E, electronic, and ordnance equipment and systems. Researches engineering data and develops Operational Sequencing Systems (OSS) documents, technical documentation which prescribes standardized sequences and procedures for starting, testing, operating, and securing elements of ship systems, such as propulsion plant and associated auxiliary equipment. Develops Engineering Operating Sequencing Systems (EOSS), Aviation Fuel OSS (AFOSS), Sewage Disposal OSS (SDOSS), Catapult OSS (CATOSS), Catapult Lube Oil OSS (CLOSS), Cargo Fuel OSS (CFOSS) packages, including reviewing comments, coding and quality assurance; conducts shipchecks as required for updates. Systematically validates ship liquids transfer and handling systems, evaluates the safety and effectiveness of in-place procedures for handling fuels, oil, waste water, and oily water, among other potential pollution agents, inspects each applicable system for operability and material condition, documents discrepancies and missing or broken components, and provides recommendations for correction to the ship, in support of the Oil Spill Prevention Initiative (OSPI). Uses IsoDraw and AdeptEditor/AdeptPublisher software to incorporate necessary changes to update existing and generate new construction EOSS packages in SGML and CGM formats and conversion to PDF. Also uses Cumulus library, EOSS Accountability System, Adobe Acrobat (reader and editor), JCALs, Content@, MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and ACCESS to research and modify documentation. Uses email (Outlook), Internet, and FTP software to transfer/receive data files. Develops Semi-Annual Update (SAU) packages for various classes of ships.

Completed naval service as Chief Engineer at Assault Craft Unit Four (ACU 4) (1999-2002). Managed and supervised personnel in the maintenance and operation of four Lycoming TF40-B gas turbine engines and associated auxiliary equipment on a hovercraft. Implemented safety and preventive maintenance training courses to ensure complete operational readiness of both craft and personnel. Instructed junior personnel in various aspects of troubleshooting 28VDC and 400 Hz electrical systems, pumps, valves, and controllers. Responsible for all technical documentation including marine gas turbine logs, Quality Assurance Program, Safety Program, and personnel training.
