Ernie Rogers is the Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) at Magnetar, where he oversees all aspects of the firm’s operations and finances, including managing a diverse array of both back-office and select front-office teams that constitute over half of Magnetar’s workforce. His leadership is pivotal in fostering innovation and operational efficiency across Magnetar businesses, as well as in the execution of strategic initiatives aimed at future-proofing the firm. As a senior executive, Ernie is involved in several key committees at Magnetar, including the Executive, Management, Valuation and Operations Committees.Additionally, Ernie leads Magnetar’s exploration of investment opportunities in both Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence. He is actively growing these sectors of Magnetar’s business through building and maintaining strong partnerships with key industry players.Ernie began his tenure at Magnetar in 2005 on the Alternative Credit and Fixed Income team, previously serving as that business’ COO. He was one of the earliest members of Magnetar, joining shortly after its inception. Since then, Ernie’s efforts have been crucial in scaling each of the firm’s businesses. He has played a significant role in sourcing new investments, onboarding and expanding business platforms and helping to identify and develop top-tier talent, all of which have collectively contributed to enhancing Magnetar’s culture, portfolio and investor offerings.Ernie serves as a member of the Board of Directors for CoreWeave, a leading specialized GPU cloud provider, and as a member of the Kansas State University Foundation Board of Trustees.
