Contract position to support the IDEXX operations team during transition period

Key Responsibilities: Managing the Operations team with overall responsibility for the Australia/New Zealand region for Customer Service, Technical Support, In Field Technical Support, Instrument Service, Supply Chain (warehouse, distribution, logistics, forecasting, product supply, trade compliance), Procurement, Project Management and Business Excellence (Team of 26, 6 direct reports)Achievements:• Implementation of S&OP process with line of business managers and corporate planners - development of planning tools and planning processes locally and with Corporate team• Move from airfreight to a air and seafreight strategy for international freight- $200,000 pa savings• Warehouse workflow review - rearranged layout, introduced new packing benches to improve flow. Implemented 5S to improve housekeeping practices • Implemented the management of free client supplies in SAP (order entry, distribution). Prepared SAP concept and managed implementation and roll out process. Improved inventory planning and cost management• Implemented national purchasing framework, developed policy, SAP set up and roll out. Set up national contracts for waste. electricity and stationary• Successful completion of IDEXX HQ relocation - on-time and within the $1.5m budget

Key Responsibilities:• Develop and implement the Corporate Process Improvement strategy in the region. Develop training programmes, identify PI projects and provide project management where required• Develop and implement the Corporate Sustainability strategy. Work with site contacts on environmental and community engagement projects • Develop and implement Corporate Transportation strategy to manage the USD 20 million freight spend in the region. Achievements:• Developed training programmes in basic process improvement, PI for Sales & Marketing and Lean. Trained teams in India, China and Singapore, established 2-weekly review meetings with local PI teams. • Rolled out 5S and Continuous Improvement Programme Implemented Lotus Notes based database to capture small scale CIP ideas in the region. Savings from PI projects USD 1 million• Managed the establishment of community projects in China, India and Japan. Project managed the implementation of a Utilities tracking software in APLA• Completed a review of the regional transportation network and freight costs. Implemented Freight management tol across region. Initiated freight reduction projects in several sites, YTD savings from freight PI projects USD 750,000.

Achieved AUD 30,000 in freight savings and improved delivery times (from average 7 days to 2-3 days) • Succeeded in changing the approach to managing daily order forecasts increasing overall product service levels by 10% from 60% to 70% and service levels for top products of > 95%• Set up task force to look at excess stock, establishing a regular stock review and marketing programme to promote excess stock. Thus reducing excess stock by 15%, generating incremental sales of A$30,000 by 2nd half of 2009 • Conducted several supply chain reviews (international and domestic freight, A$ 3million pa spend); managing partner identification and negotiations, project implementation, resulting in 2 days reduction of inbound delivery cycle time (10 days), 99.5% domestic on time delivery and A$150,000 savings in domestic and inbound freight• Established compliance Centre of Excellence for the importation of biological, dangerous goods and highly controlled substances. Successfully passed several customs audits• Turned around the oligonucleotide manufacturing area after product recall, reducing remake rate from 3% to 1.5%, on time delivery to > 95%

Responsibilities:·Manage the relationship to the 3rd party manufacturing partners (34) in Asia Pacific (12 countries) in regards to supply, pricing, cost improvement, contracts, performance and compliance. Total spend USD 68m·dentify, negotiate pricing and approve the sourcing point for products sourced through the external supply chain·Define the sourcing network for Asia Pacific and work on identifying ways of streamlining supply ·Work with regional marketing to identify projects to harmonise products and sourcing points to reduce cost of goods·Work with regional affiliates and marketing in the identification of new product opportunities and sourcing points in Asia Pacific
