I am responsible for the continual review of welding techniques/procedures and the introduction of improvements to operations to ensure that Serimax provides an effective and efficient service for all clients with all may perform experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials.I schedule and manage the development of all proposed welding procedure specifications in accordance with all contract documents, applicable industry standards and all applicable welding codes, lead to define, establish, implement and upgrade existing welding and testing processes and procedures. I also produce and maintain all welding procedure documentation.I am in charge of developing scope of work for all procedure qualifications and to communicate these requirements to Quality Control personnel as well as all shop personnel prior to the commencement of welding. After the welding, I need to review all data provided by Quality Control to assure all welding data is in compliance with all welding procedure specificationsI will have to witness and review all mechanical testing results, specifications, welding codes and standards to assure compliance and completion of all qualifications records. After a welding qualification, I am responsible for the completion of final welding documentation and obtaining final client review/approvalOn the other hand, I will need to ensure that welder qualification tests are in line with the code requirements, Contract Specification and compile registers.I also provide welding support for any production issues that may occur during the course of the project and travel to the sites as required (offshore, spool base, fabrication yard, etc.).

Managing new welding and welders’ qualification and development by using PMBOK (project management methodology) to anticipate and mitigate risk during project production and meet client requirement. Manage, planning and anticipate certification of welding machine, parameter and welders man power according to production planning and project final lead time. In charge of keep tracking the work load of the plant in order to monitor the availability of welding machines and define action plan to mitigate the risk. Currently an associate member of Welding Institute Malaysia (AMWIM) and member of The Welding Institute (TWI), UK.In charge of manage, planning of man power for welding qualification and certification. Determine yearly appraisal for welders and welding technician and supporting them to achieving the KPI in accordance to the department KPI and company policy. Improve the welder and welding technician daily working process to improve their working environment in terms of safety, lead time and communication within cross-functional organization. I also responsible for the career development of welders and welding technician in terms of skills, safety and quality.Supporting maintenance department in improving all the welding machine maintenance by determine the preventive and detective maintenance list and spare part list of every welding machine. Supporting maintenance team in troubleshooting, solving and preventing welding machine problem or breakdown. Other than this, I also in charge to carry out internal audit (according to ISO9001:2008 and API Spec Q1) to other department as a qualified internal auditor.

In charge of the profiling process to manufacture carcass (first layer of flexible pipe) for the subsea flexible pipe (API 17J). Carry out troubleshooting, analysis, optimization and improvement on this process. Organize trial to determine the machine feasibility and analyzing with PED (research and development department in FlexiFrance) the impact of the flexible pipe in the next production phase (sheathing, spiraling, amuouring, end fitting, testing and packing) and at the final application. Project leader of Lean Six Sigma (green belt) for profiling setup time reduction by means of removing or reduce non-value added activities without impacting on the quality of value added activities.In charge of the welding process and welder qualification for all the processes in flexible pipe & umbilical manufacturing (for profiling, spiraling, amouring, and end fitting according to API 17J) which include TIG/GTAW (ISO, ASME), MIG/GMAW (ISO, ASME), resistance welding of flat wire and shaped wire (ISO, ASME, NACE), high frequency ultrasonic welding for plastic, and fabric joining for KEVLAR and CHOMARAT welding (ISO). Responsible in troubleshooting and anticipate potential problem during welding machine certification and welding processes. Supporting methods, tooling, maintenance, production and logistic (warehouse) in solving welding related issue and determining, control of welding consumables.

In charge in the maintenance activities of CGL (Continuous Galvanizing Line) production which include preventive, detective maintenance and tooling design for every different machine setting. Work to analyze and mitigate risk during production. This include studying the machine parts life time, taking and recording the machine vibration, controlling the quantity of critical tooling and spare parts. In charge of execution, installation and commissioning of CGL machine improvement project (Additional of alkaline cleaning in this process).
