Welding Engineer
CurrentI am responsible for the continual review of welding techniques/procedures and the introduction of improvements to operations to ensure that Serimax provides an effective and efficient service for all clients with all may perform experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials.I schedule and manage the development of all proposed welding procedure specifications in accordance with all contract documents, applicable industry standards and all applicable welding codes, lead to define, establish, implement and upgrade existing welding and testing processes and procedures. I also produce and maintain all welding procedure documentation.I am in charge of developing scope of work for all procedure qualifications and to communicate these requirements to Quality Control personnel as well as all shop personnel prior to the commencement of welding. After the welding, I need to review all data provided by Quality Control to assure all welding data is in compliance with all welding procedure specificationsI will have to witness and review all mechanical testing results, specifications, welding codes and standards to assure compliance and completion of all qualifications records. After a welding qualification, I am responsible for the completion of final welding documentation and obtaining final client review/approvalOn the other hand, I will need to ensure that welder qualification tests are in line with the code requirements, Contract Specification and compile registers.I also provide welding support for any production issues that may occur during the course of the project and travel to the sites as required (offshore, spool base, fabrication yard, etc.).
