I am a creative and passionate Business Management lecturer At The Hague University of applied sciences with extensive work experience in both commercial and non commercial organizations. My specific expertise is sustainability in business. Early work experience consisted of the analysis of the economic, social and environmental performance of large multinationals, primarily through the analysis of their sustainability and later integrated reports. My extensive knowledge of sustainability reporting is the primary reason why I am part of the panel of experts of the Transparency Benchmark.I also apply my knowledge of sustainability reporting, and more specifically The GRI guidelines, in an assignment that I co-developed for the minor sustainability in business. In this minor students get an introduction to the concept of integrated sustainability, an integrated approach to sustainability in business, and they have to write a sustainability report for a mid sized company.Prior to my work at The Hague university I worked at the Association of Investors for Sustainable Development, Newforesight and Deloitte. I believe there are many challenges we face, global challenges, that deserve our full and urgent attention. I also found personally that pessimism pacifies, and that I would rather see these challenges as a driving source for innovations that can improve life in all forms and places. Just because it gives me positive energy. Call me selfish.
