The Clinical Tropical Medicine laboratory is a world leader in the design and conduct of Induced Blood Stage Malaria challenge studies. This type of clinical studies accelerates the development of malaria treatments by allowing the evaluation of new drugs efficacy in healthy volunteers, thus shortening the timelines to deliver new medications to the field. I am in charge of design of the studies and the preparation of regulatory and operational documents and ensures that the trials are conducted as per the ICH requirements within the agreed timelines and budget. Within the group, I also share my experience in project management processes and tools and take responsibility for the development of malaria-specific clinical trial databases.

MMV is a not-for-profit organisation developing new drugs for the treatment of Malaria. Laboratory activities are outsourced to CROs and internal functional support in each scientific area is more restricted than in large pharmaceutical groups. Thanks to this specificity, I gained much more hands on experience in the various scientific domains and in CROs management (such as Request For Proposal).My main responsibilities consist in: - defining the strategy for the Preclinical and Clinical Development of innovative molecules, - leading the design of the non-clinical and clinical studies and report results,- establishing and supervising the execution of the plan to progress compounds into clinical phases,- monitoring the completion of key deliverables and managing the budget associated to the projects,- ensuring relevant communication to stakeholders and MMV Management, - supervising the preparation of the submission dossiers (IB, IMPD and Protocol),- working in close relationship with the clinical sites to prepare all studies related documents and ensure completion of the studies as per the GCP requirements,- identify the most suitable project management tools for MMV and ensure internal training.

My experience as a project manager was much helpful for developing the most business relevant applications.
