* BTI was a high pressure die cast auto parts manufacturer with revenues in the $100M range. - Held full authority for finance, tax, treasury, IT and human resources for the $100 million business.- Scoured various potential finance providers including banks, private equity and other funders, as well as searching for a business partner to purchase part or all of the business.- Prepared the company for CCAA filing in conjunction the President, employed legal counsel and drafted documents for court creditor protection application. Engaged a Chief Restructuring Officer and worked in collaboration to deliver a compelling case to the Royal Bank to secure interim financing during CCAA.- Acted as the conduit between the court appointed monitor, BDO Dunwoody, the Chief Restructuring Officer, Export Development Canada and legal counsel to close the Brantford plant, downsize 160 employees and move operations to the existing Burlington location.- Led the negotiations of the sale to a new buyer, allowing the company to exit CCAA saving 400 jobs.

* PRL (now Appetito Canada) is a frozen food manufacturer targeting long term care facilities, hospitals and Meals on Wheels agencies in Canada. - Conducted a deep dive evaluation into business operations uncovering the need to add and secure additional sub-debt funding.- Purchased company with 2 peers through a business broker. Authored a letter of intent and delivered a business case to secure an additional $1.6 million funding utilizing sub-debt and traditional banking through Roynat and TD Canada Trust.- Restructured a dysfunctional reporting process for external and internal use, while increasing productivity and providing peers on the senior management team with more accurate data.- Acquired an $80,000 annual dairy quota rebate for using Canadian dairy as an ingredient in conjunction with the VP Operations.- Delivered a $125,000 savings annually starting a bid process for raw material procurement.- Influential lead in negotiating the sale of the company to a private German-based firm for a notable profit.

* Thermo CRS is a major manufacturer of integrated robotic systems targeted at automating drug discovery laboratories. - Acted as COO with accountability for all business operations except sales and marketing with full authority for U.S. and Canadian reporting for the company generating $28 million in revenue per annum.- Managed 55 full time employees with a $4.5 million operating and production budget to direct the 21,000 sq. ft. plant.- Saved $200,000 per annum by focusing production on two robot arms instead of three, reducing input costs and streamlining production.- Instrumental in the final negotiations to sell the company to Thermo Electron ensuring a seamless acquisition, and transitioning reporting from Canadian to U.S. GAAP.

- Responsible for Finance, Human Resources, Information Services and had P&L responsibility for Service at this publicly traded company.- Achieved an 85% share price premium on sale of the company to Thermo Electron utilizing the services of RBC Dominion Securities, acted as the prime point-of-contact during several rounds of due diligence.- Achieved strategic objective and improved revenues by $500,000 and profits by $200,000 by targeting the sale of service contracts, reducing giveaways and increasing sales prices on service parts. This allowed better service performance to our US customers.

- Performed extensive research and recommended the purchase of Navision ERP management software, acting as the installation project lead which provided a significant increase in fast access to information.- Utilized extensive experience in MS Excel to initiate a new financial reporting structure, improving content adding variance analysis, sales analysis, cash flow and manpower reports, decreasing the month-end close from 2 weeks to 3 days.- Developed a business case and presented before financial institutions to acquire new financing for balance sheet improvement, raising share capital and debt to $3.5 million.- Directed consolidations, treasury, business planning, SR&ED, tax, external auditor coordination and planning, and North American accounting processes.
