Preparing tender bids and execution/assignment direction of advisory projects in financial institutions in emerging markets, funded i.a. by World Bank, EBRD, European Union, bilateral donor agencies as well as by client banks themselves. Large, multi-year assignments comprised so-called twinning projects between ING Bank and banks in Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Costa Rica, a.o. aimed at strengthening organisation and capabilities of the banks. Other major projects entailed the evaluation of banks with a view to their restructuring or preparation for sale (Ecuador, Uruguay). A further field of activity concerned the development of postal banks/postal financial institutions in Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America (assignments in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Kroatia, Brazil, Cuba, Zimbabwe).

BMB is specialised in institutional development and the development of measures/recommendations to improve the institutional environment of government entities and state-owned enterprises, as well as feasibility studies and management of long-term investment projects in the financial, industrial and agricultural sector.Assignments as teamleader/project director comprised i.a. Organisation and Administration of Urban Transportation in Bogota (1973-1975), Colombia; Establishment of Kenya Textile Training Institute (1979-1984, 13 experts)); Energy Assessment Project in West Java, Indonesia; Performance Audit Methodology and Training for the Auditor General of Pakistan (1981-1986, 25 man-years); Public Enterprises and Economic Management, Sudan.BMB was taken over by Arcadis, Arnhem, in the early nineties, but continued as separate entity.

Various assignments in marketing, internal organisation and production efficiency improvement in the textile/clothing/floor covering industry (Netherlands, Germany, Austria).
