I gain a genuine satisfaction from helping others. If I can help somebody understand an oddity or ask the right questions, even just lend a hand, I’ll do it. Even better if I can be a part of hitting that eureka moment. Growing up I was also the kid that would disassemble everything trying to figure out why things worked the way they do. Couple those together and now I love stepping into the shoes of others to see how technology can be that assisting hand.The FutureHAUS program I was apart of during and after college was the perfect platform to grow that passion. We got to develop a pretty wicked house packed with different technologies to assist many forms of disabilities. And I had the privilege to be the lead engineer of the program and lead a team to design and build our own solar renewable system. The program also took first place in an international competition of 14 universities in Dubai (which means yes, we were crazy enough to take a house to the other side of the world).Currently I work with a small team to develop an operator training system and improve processes. My job is to gather feedback from actual craft masters and transform their wants and wishes into the platform we are building. Its super gratifying to see their responses and appreciation as each piece comes together. Aside from all that, I’m just a regular person. I like my video games, enjoy my books and I’m an avid tinkerer. Outside of work you can generally find me sitting at a café going through online courses to learn new technologies or tinkering with electronics and 3D printers.
