Media Tijgers is my own little company which I use to pick up freelance projects for international and local clients. From home or on location.

At Media agency ZIGT I'm an Interaction designer working on an extensive range of projects like websites, banners and Out of Home animations for brands like Hornbach, KFC, Consumentenbond, Buienradar and Maandag. I also take part and develop conceptual ideas for both clients and ZIGT itself.

At Bureau Kellerman I started out working at 'the studio'. This is where I worked with account managers, copywriters, creative- and art-directors to create 'beautiful pieces of art' for clients like Heineken, Sony (Ericsson), Toys 'R' Us, Toys XL and many others.Because of the rapid growth of digital projects (at the beginning mostly banners and e-mail newsletters) I've been at the foundation of a new department, the 'online studio'. This is where I still see growth on a daily basis and I can evantually see it becoming an essential part of our company (if it's not already!). With the growth of the company my online knowledge grows as well. For example: I've been learning to work with version control system and I can use PHP, javascript and jQuery to enhance the websites I make.Nowadays most of my attention goes to video editing and motion design. Premiere and After Effects are now my daily go-to applications.

At BlackOrange I felt at ease from the get-go. A small, but young team where I've been able to show of my talents and qualities. Thanks to a close interaction with a programmer I quickly expanded my knowledge of designing and developing websites and particularly the usage of CSS. Another important aspect of the job was the direct contact with clients which showed me the different visions of client vs. agency. Next to the digital part I've had a good amount of time to develop my illustration and animation skills. All in all a versatile job of which I think about with a fond memory (both personal and business wise).

I found my first 'regular' job as graphic designer at Etopia. In their new office with an excellent view of the main river in Haarlem. I should've enjoyed the view a bit more, but I was too busy learning to process big, unclear textfiles to nicely designed newsletters, despite the lack of room given for it. I've also learned that there's more to learn than desktop publishing so I started focusing on webdesign. I used a parttime education at the College of MultiMedia in Amsterdam to get me started. Thankfully Etopia gave me all the time and space to do so.

Because it was very difficult to get a job after I graduated I found a temporary job at the Rabobank in Aalsmeer as a delivery boy. My main responsibility was to deliver important packages and letters between the smaller offices in the surrounding villages and the headquarters in Aalsmeer. I've had a lot of fun on this job, but all this time my focus was on finding a job which I loved.

Reklaspits is specialised in brand styling. At Reklaspits I was hired on project basis. As part of a 4-man team I illustrated various facades of a major dutch drugstore company. We did that using pictures and measurements. After this I implemented the new design for the company so that they could see what the end result would look like. A short, but educational experience.

Gemini Design was not just an internship agency for me. I enjoyed the time that I worked there very much and I enjoy looking back at it. I think this period was very important to me as I've learned basically everything there is to know about working at an advertising agency. Not just the technical side, but also the 'ins and outs' of the business. This means I've learned to deal with deadlines and working overtime as well as seeing a project evolve to a final product. With clients like L'Oréal I learned to work for established companies and to work by guidelines. I've been given the titles 'King of interns' and 'immune to stress' which I can do nothing about but agree :)
