As KIPP Baltimore's Director of Development and External Affairs, Eryn is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of KIPP Baltimore’s fundraising, external relations, and marketing efforts in close concert with our Executive Director and the Board of Directors. Eryn will provide strategic support to advocacy efforts on behalf of KIPP Baltimore, and oversee our family/community engagement work.KIPP Baltimore (KBI) is a public charter school located in the Historic Rosemont neighborhood of West Baltimore. KBI enrolls approximately 1550 Baltimore students in kindergarten through 8th grade, and supports more than one thousand alumni on individual pathways to joyful, satisfying lives and upwardly-mobile careers of highest aspiration.Previously, Eryn Lessard was the Director of Differentiation, Operations, and Partnerships at Maree G. Farring Elementary-Middle School in the Brooklyn neighborhood of South Baltimore. In this role, her work focused on identifying areas of student need and collaborating with school staff, families & neighbors, district leaders, and outside partners to build sustainable solutions. Eryn holds a BA in Art History from Smith College, a Masters in Secondary Education from the University of Michigan, and is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University Education School Leadership program. Eryn is actively involved with the United Way of Central Maryland, serving on the Baltimore City RUN Board, Executive Council of Emerging Leaders United, and the Women United Education Committee. Additionally, Eryn is a longtime advocate for arts education and works closely with Young Audiences of Maryland to support summer learning opportunities for Baltimore City Schools students.
