A solid way to pronounce and remember my name is "a sigh" or just the letters, "SI". I know what you're thinking; I'm going to have to explain it again, and it's totally okay.
I'm 26 years old and currently attending CU Denver as a first year student. I chose a business (undeclared) major upon registering but I'm deciding on doing the 4+1 program CU Denver offers to get my masters in information systems. I'm also working for Office Depot and Lyft. I've come to learn and appreciate my experience with every company I've worked for thus far. Just from working these jobs, I've been reminded of how important it is to meet customer needs and how those needs can differentiate from individual to individual. Both of these jobs have rekindled the requirement to have a heightened sense of social skills, including the comprehension of someone's body language and/or tone of voice being used. With Office Depot more specifically, cross trainability is a must at the job which requires an individual to learn quickly. It has also taught me more of the logistical side of things though; organization being at the core of it. From tasks such as stocking, inventory, replenishment, and less often times merchandising. This is at the core of every functioning store; it's integral to the process of making businesses succeed. The beauty of job experience is that there are always skills you can accumulate at any job and tailor them to fit somewhere completely different. There is always something more to learn and and I've become really grateful for the way that looks on personal growth. I'm more into the arts which might render me more of a creative type but I'm constantly wanting to integrate my world with the professional world. How can I take my preexisting attention-to-detail, creative/critical thinking, and ever-changing approach and philosophy to the professional world? I'm currently trying to weave those two worlds together.
