Oversee all finance, accounting, and reporting activities

Manage and direct Agency's financial policy, accounting, and reporting activities including management of all financial administration, business planning, and budgeting activities.

Manage finance, accounting and reporting functions. Provide leadership and coordination of all company financial practices, including accounting, budgeting, financial reports, taxes and audit functions. Assure compliance with all regulatory agencies (State and Federal), assist outside auditors in preparation of annual financial and compliance audits. Assist the President with financial strategy, planning and forecasting. Synthesize, analyze and generate quarterly financial reporting for ownership and other parties to assess the overall financial strength (via Composite Score) of the institution using BS & P&L, to help frame strategic initiatives and tactical plans to maintain standards of financial responsibility under federal regulations. Refine and/or establish policies, procedures, internal controls, and analytical processes to ensure timely and efficient execution of finance, accounting and financial aid related objectives.

Conducted onsite, comprehensive compliance audits, reviews and compilations at post-secondary institutions and third party servicers. Conducted management interviews and review of sample files to evaluate compliance, identify liabilities/risks, and enhance institutional administrative capabilities. Evaluate and document the system of internal control over each SFA program(s). Assist Institutions in their responses to US Dept. of ED program review for audit deficiencies and recommend process improvements to resolve findings, to ensure continued Institutional program participation. Review and submit institutional corrective action plans in coordination with third party servicers for review by UD Dept of ED. Analyze newly enacted, revised or proposed statutes, regulations (State and Federal), and their potential impact. Provide accurate and timely compliance guidance to institutions. Maintain working relationships with the U.S Department of Education, Accrediting Bodies, and State Agencies. Plan and execute financial audits by understanding organization objectives, structure, policies, processes, internal controls, and regulations; identifying risk areas; preparing audit scope and objectives; follow audit programs Assess compliance with financial regulations (90/10 and Composite Scores) and controls by executing audit program steps; testing general ledger, account balances, balance sheets, income statements, and related financial statements; examine and analyze records, reports, operating practices, and documentation. Recommend changes in the internal control structure and operating processes by identifying root causes. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and conferences (State & Federal), read professional publications, maintain personal networks, participate in professional organizations.
