I was promoted to VP of Engineering and I took over the oversight of the client teams too. I work with the team in introducing some of the best practices I already had introduced in the backend teams and I work on modifying the way we managed stakeholders to be more realistic on estimations and timelines.

During my time as Head of Backend, I built a team to develop the system to the highest standard and I worked with them to establish the best practices and engineering culture to respond to the demanding changing environment we operate in.We change the architecture of the system to make it more scalable and at the same time, we increase the quality of the code, measured by tools, to make it more maintainable.I was in charge of the site reliability, the APIs of the system, the architecture, the consumption of our internal data, and the structure of the team and method of working.

Develop both the backend (Django) and frontend (React Native), managing the infrastructure (AWS, Terraform, Ansible) and data platform to collect and process information from the customer in order to understand how our users interact with the app.Setting the vision on the technology side of Wager and ensuring that the solution and approaches in used are adequate for the current stage of the development and customer base, working closely together with stakeholders to define the technical and product roadmap.Establish Objective and Key Results in order to align business priorities with product roadmap.

As a director of development my role is to enhance the team to deliver to the next level while adhering to best practices to ensure we ship maintainable and high quality code. I'm also responsible of working close together with the stakeholders in order to ensure we build the tools they don't know they need.

Products like Octopus Choice – which allows everyday investors to earn great interest by investing, with us, in carefully selected loans backed by bricks and mortar. As Lead Developer, I am responsible for creating the system that leverages the business requirements, empowering front-end developers (either mobile or web) to create great user journeys through the applications. Among other things, this includes writing algorithms, design and implement database structures, integration with third parties APIs, writing internal RESTFul APIs, etc.

I'm responsible to develop, deploy and maintain a bunch of information technology services in several areas. Some of the application I manage has up to 30k potential users while other are used just by a few peoples.The projects I work in involves lots of technologies including Python, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, jQuery, Javascript, celery, rabbitmq, LDAP, Java, Spring, maven, Linux, Windows, Bash, OAS, Oracle SSO, Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle Web Cache.

Manage hundreds of physical servers, implement two virtualization solution based on VMWare and KVM, use several storage technologies from SAN to iSCSI. Create a policy on backups. Automate as many tasks as possible to be able to manage everything with a small team.

As a founder, my responsibilities went from having sales meetings to lead the development of products.

Deploy a LDAP server for the University of La Laguna, develop a Django app to allow guess professors to use wifi, an several other things.
