Taking the initiative to empower our communities and the world to be better prepared for emergencies through wide-spread awareness and education on the topic of cardiac arrest and the technique of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

According to the American Heart Association, the correct administration of CPR can triple the chances of survival after cardiac arrest. Thus, becoming a First-Aid/CPR/AED and BLS Instructor has allowed me to make this life-saving information and training more accessible to the community!

In my role, I prioritize collaboration and inclusivity among officers to mediate conflict and foster an encouraging environment. My goal is to cultivate supportive and enriching experiences for all members as we strive towards our shared goal of becoming physicians.

Conducting a meta-analysis under the mentorship of Dr. Chandramallika Basak to investigate the impact of music therapy on the cognitive abilities and quality of life of adults diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment. By analyzing data from clinical trials involving older adults, my research aims to provide valuable insight into the benefits of music therapy as a non-pharmacological intervention in settings such as retirement or nursing homes.

As part of the clinical research team, I interacted with physicians and patients to collect data studying the impact of cooling duration following cardiac arrest, brain oxygen optimization in severe traumatic brain injuries, and evaluation of specific tests in diagnosing myocardial infarctions.

As a medical assistant, I obtain vitals for patients, perform EKGS, administer injections, and order scans or bloodwork for patients to ensure effective and efficient patient care. Through discussion of patient diagnoses with physicians, I am able to further note important medical information into patient charts.

I explored the intersectionality of sociology and medicine through discussion-based classes with French university students, gaining various perspectives on topics such as healthcare, social issues, and policy-making.

Our team studied the efficacy of the Global CPR Training course in effectively teaching individuals CPR and AED use in a concise fashion. As I volunteered with children with autism, their love for music was evident and motivated my research in determining music's beneficial social, cognitive, and behavioral effects. Thus, I organized a music program aimed at teaching them interactive songs while also giving them the freedom to create their own music and choreographies. These experiences allowed me to foster environments in which they felt excited and comfortable, providing them with an avenue to freely express their emotions.

Conducted a systematic review of clinical trials on the impact of music therapy on children with autism, focusing specifically on changes in communication skills, social adaptation, and imitation behavior. The goal of our research was to establish music therapy as a viable and valuable treatment option for this population.

I worked in Dr. Alice O’Toole’s lab on studies focused on personality trait perception based on first impressions. As I gained expertise, we collectively developed experimental protocols to investigate the efficacy of participants' ability in matching images of individuals with manmade representations.

Octapharma Plasma is a plasma donation center focused on delivering the best quality plasma to create life-saving medicine for patients globally. As a medical screener, I checked our donors' vitals as well as protein and hematocrit levels to ensure their safety during the plasma donation process.
