• Working with the lab team under Dr. Angela Fleischman in the UCI School of Medicine to contribute to novel discoveries of Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN)• Utilizing biological laboratory techniques including Western Blots, cell culture, and PCR• Comfortability working on mouse models (collecting & processing blood)• Currently investigating the role of the transactivation of JAK1 from the JAK2V617F mutation, a mutation present in most MPN patients that leads to the excessive production of myeloid-derived cells

• Working with students of all ages to increase their knowledge about subjects while helping with academic assignments and establishing study skills• Fostering a collaborative environment to ensure that the student is comfortable and can learn to the best of their ability

• Manually searching 1 million base pairs using the UCSC Genome Browser to find and record potential sRNAs (small RNAs) in the E. Coli EPEC strain• Learning R Programming as it applies to metabolomics data filtering & analysis• Understanding biological research methods and their applications, especially in terms of RNA, proteins, and bacteria

• Overseeing 6 commissions under the ASUCI Internal Vice President branch • Planning socials and meetings for the CORE and IVP team• Assisting the IVP with any needed responsibilities• Working with and supporting commissioners by providing resources, helpful guidance, and inspiration for UCI events

• Leading and working with a group of 7 interns to plan, organize, and implement events on campus that promote cultural awareness• Organizing a class for 27 UCI students to educate about different regions around the world and immerse themselves in these cultures through various professor talks, activities, and collaboration

• Leading 4 volunteers through the process of planning events centered around social justice topics - including underrepresentation in media, imposter syndrome, and internalized homophobia• Working with other Cross-Cultural Staff to organize campus-wide events where cultural RCOs could express their cultures

• Learning the world of a family practitioner - medical terms, how to run a medical business, office skills, and interacting with patients• Exploring diverse settings of medicine including Hospice care, Parkinson's & Alzheimer's care, and telemedicine calls
