Producing, creating and developing educational visual media for use in undergraduate medical education.Overseeing and developing educational learning content in co-ordination with medical education providers to enhance and engage student's learning experiences within the Ron Grimley Undergraduate Centre, University of Birmingham medical school, and further afield. This includes content for video, print, photographic, presentation and web-based output. I also lead a team of 4 media production staff with a skillset that spans across video, design, e-learning, web, print and app development for medical education output. Key Achievements* Script to screen production of Tomorrow's Clinicians, a 38-episode clinical skills video series for undergraduate and postgraduate medical professionals.* Co-ordination and delivery of in-house video broadcasts using the NewTek TriCaster TC1 system.* Introduction of Polecam filming rig to local practice, to improve the views obtained from filming surgical procedures.* Founding member of iClinical® medical learning resources, including Innovative Anatomy and Clinical Examination in Practice.* Development of visual and text content for all front-facing websites produced under the RGUC and iClinical® identities.* Production of 360 degree VR video for use in immersive medical training programmes (RealEyes)* Overseeing development, testing, UX refinement, marketing and distribution of mobile apps.* Driving the expansion of the RGUC Media service with the addition of new personnel.* Continued progression and implementation of up-to-date equipment and tools for graphic design, medical video production, live video streaming and interactive video content.

Providing media support and basic IT support to world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon and inventor of the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing, Derek McMinn, and his research and administrative team. The role involved preparing high quality lecture and seminar audio-visual material, image manipulation and stills photography, video recording, directing and editing of hip & knee surgery for training purposes. Many of the produced surgical DVD’s are used and distributed by Smith & Nephew Ltd for surgeon training and four of these were live satellite broadcasts to the USA, which I directed. Other tasks included graphic design (company branding – letterheads, business cards, leaflets etc), digital archiving of x-rays, content for the company website and photographic content for the book, “Modern Hip Resurfacing” (Pub. Springer) with accompanying DVD.Also provided video and graphic design support to Smith & Nephew Orthopaedics & JointMedica Limited.

Part-time position during university study providing technical assistance to further & higher education students in the use of media audio/visual equipment.

Providing assistance in the initial development of interactive whiteboard software for use in primary school education.Assisting in general website design, video filming & editing for various clients and organisations for educational purposes. Teaching basic website design skills to primary school children. Editing of educational CD-ROMs for interactive exhibition at Bristol Museum. Edit & camera assistant during production of educational film for Bristol-based charity SARI (Society Against Racist Incidents), aimed towards secondary school pupils.
