I received my PhD, in biomedical sciences, from Wright State university. I have approximately 10 years experience in bioinformatics research. In my previous position I did algorithm development for the analysis of next generation sequencing data. This analysis has involved both STR and SNP datasets. During this time I used Perl on a daily basis. I have developed apps in C#, in Visual Studio, in order to enable data analysis by lab members. Currently I work as a Systems Engineer and utilize Java to create software for utilization by insurance companies. This development can be anything from maintaining old code to end to end development of new code. I have experience working in and developing API's as well as utilizing various Google cloud tools in my work. I have previously performed transcriptomic analysis of nematodes with the goal of better drug development and control of the parasitic species. This analysis has involved utilizing custom scripts as well as tools such as Prot4EST, HMMER, and other tools. I have some experience with python, R, MySQL, C++. I am comfortable in a Linux work environment and have 6 years experience in the analysis of next generation sequencing data.
