Currently working as Product Director in High-tech Energy Applications at NEX Power Ltd in the UK. Since its inception in 2010, the company has been involved with development of advanced Microgeneration systems using micro gas turbine technology. The most recent projects, including Turbogenerator for hybrid propulsion systems, Certification & Field trial of micro-CHP boiler (BEIS Energy Entrepreneurs Fund), Development of domestic hydrogen micro-CHP appliance (BEIS Hy4Heat Contract), and Concentrated Solar Power Microturbine (Innovate UK Fund). Always intending to contribute greatly to the growth of the business, I have been in a variety of challenging roles including Conceptual Design Engineer, Technical Manager, Technology Transfer Officer, Project Manager, and Product Lead. Thanks to my doctoral degree in Gas Turbine Engineering from Cranfield University (2012), I had the privilege to work with the world’s top experts in the field of gas turbine technology. Alongside my studies, I have participated in the development of the Techno-economic, Environmental and Risk Analysis (TERA) framework. I made a particular contribution to the “lifing” module of the TERA suite by integrating physics-based oxidation, creep, and fatigue models. My PhD research yielded one journal and two conference papers. TERA is a university-led multidisciplinary aero engine conceptual design tool developed under the EU FP6 and FP7 projects: VITAL, NEWAC and DREAM. The development of TERA has been closely monitored, and influenced, by several European OEMs such as Rolls-Royce, MTU, and Snecma.I hold an MSc degree in Automotive Engineering from Kingston University, London (2007). Before starting my postgraduate degree, I worked as Market Research Analyst at Ring Khodro Pars (RKP), a company most widely recognised for being the only designer and manufacturer of piston rings for gasoline and diesel engines in Iran and the Middle East. I have completed internship programme at RKP where I was successful in securing a graduate role offer.
