I am currently working as Health and Safety Supervisor and Document Control Specialist for contractor (Teknokon Industry) in an expansion project aimed at extending the viability of the mining project in the Erzincan, Turkey. I am working for and reporting directly to Health and Safety Coordinator, an expatriate (American citizen). This role requires my management and assistance of the health and safety team, general co-ordination of the safety department and liaison with the client and with Amec Foster Wheeler (EPCM). This project will be completed and handed over shortly and I am currently searching for my next opportunity.

Re-employed by Fernas following restrictions on travel to Russia, as Health and Safety Supervisor, on what is globally the largest pipeline project currently under construction. I worked across both spreads on LOT1 for pipeline construction contractor for the construction and installation of over 400kms of 56inch gas pipeline. I reported directly to LOT 1 Health and Safety Manager a British expatriate. Project language was English. All activities and reporting were completed in English.A challenging position which demanded team work and autonomous working, liaising with Client and with EPCM. I was involved in all processes, liaison with and management of over 40 field officers and inspectors. This role has given me an excellent experience in heavy construction, heavy plant operations, earthmoving, lifting operations and large-scale excavations in extremes of temperature and challenging conditions in relation to terrain, logistics and remote working.My duties were including but not limited to;- Preparing and translating risk assessments, JHAs, tool box talks and emergency plans- Office duties like reporting of accidents, near misses, unsafe behaviours and situations, site observations, identified non-compliances and elimination of non-compliances- Attending and reporting weekly / monthly HSE meetings and HS Committee meetingsThis project included high risk activities such as pipe transportation, laying, stringing, pipeline fitting, welding (automatical and manual), bending, coating, lowering and backfilling operations, works at steep slopes with heavy machineries,- Preparing and delivering training presentations. I delivered trainings including site induction, working at heights, hot works, confined space entry, electrical safety, heavy lifting, excavation safety, permit to work, orientation and induction, fire safety etc.)- Managing training scheme- Make presentations at client level,I resigned from the project because of marriage in October.

I worked as a Senior Health and Safety Officer for Ronesans Heavy Industries in Togliatti, Russia for the construction phase of a Kubishyev Nitrogen Processing Plant on behalf of the client Linde. Project Language was English. All activities and reporting were done in English.My duties were including but not limited to;- Incident investigations, incident root cause analysis, taking corrective and preventive actions- Reporting of weekly / monthly statistics,- Attending weekly management site walkdowns with senior management and closing out action items follow up for noncompliance’s identified during site walkdowns- Conducting and reporting HS drills- Participating in award / penalty system management, work permit system management and ensuring implementation of PPE system activities.- Periodical inspections of project equipment, electrical tools, lifting equipments, fire extinguishing equipments, heavy plants, earthmoving machineries, heavy vehicles, scaffolds, work platforms, piperacks, heavy machineries etc., attending periodical hygiene audits-Ensuring that critical equipments are used by competent persons and critical activities are performed by competent persons.- Ensuring that chemicals are used compliance with their MSDS’s.I was prevented to return the project because of the restrictions on travel to Russia during the crisis between Turkey and Russia.

All activities and reporting were done in English.My duties were including but not limited to;- Mentoring the workforce as part of the behavioural safety program- Give guidance - Road Safety activities for loaded trailer at steep slopes- Safe driving & plant traffic safety system- Environmental Measurements for occupational exposure to dust, noise, gas etc.- Lead a team of safety officers, - I also set up emergency response teams, ensured necessary training had been provided and managed a large medical response team.

I worked for subcontractor of Limak (Mimark) during construction of the Arkun Dam and associated Hydro Electric Power Plant as a Health and Safety Specialist. In addition to this I worked in the field as Safety Advisor and overseeing safety on the construction site. The client was Enerji S.A.Following completion of Arkun Dam, I continued working for Limak Construction on the construction of the Yusufeli Dam Building as a Health and Safety Specialist. This construction project was under the control of the State Hydraulic Works.

I actively worked for HGG Construction at the construction site of waste water treatment plant controlled by MWH/Yüksel Proje Joint Venture and constructed by HOCHTIEF Solutions AG/HGG Construction /Sachsen Wasser GmbH Joint Venture. Project Language was English. My duties were including but not limited to;- Continuous overseeing and monitoring of ongoing site activities to ensure compliance with HS rules, problem solving, troubleshooting.- Identifying hazardous situations and reporting to relevant departments / people in charge- Conducting Tool Box Talks

Taking the opportunity to be assigned as an English Teacher by Ministry of Education is given to the individuals who get high marks (minimum 65 points) in KPDS or ÜDS exams that are examined by ÖSYM in Turkey. I got 70 points in KPDS exam (English Language Proficiency Test for Governmental Personnel) and 67,5 points in ÜDS exam (Interuniversity Board Foreign Language Examination). Then, I was assigned as an English Teacher at Atatürk Industrial High School.
