ArchitectStonehill Taylor Jun 2021 - Mar 2023New York, New York, UsI was responsible for the exterior upgrade and new additions to the highrise landmark American Stock Exchange building in Manhattan's Financial District. A new building extension features a high-end private club with a restaurant, dining area, and interior landscaping surrounded by luxurious rooftop amenities, including a pool and vegetated areas. The building entrances are redesigned and replaced to modernize access points while preserving the building's historic character. Outdated mechanical equipment on the lower and high roofs has been removed, the building has been retrofitted, and damaged windows have been replaced.The exterior of the new addition features a rainscreen system with a natural stone finish, complemented by expansive glazed wall openings that offer sweeping views of the city skyline. A service bar is strategically placed to enhance functionality. A vegetated light cove surrounds a large skylight in the interior, creating a nature-infused environment that elevates the space.My responsibilities encompassed the conceptual design, design development, permit, and construction document phases. I successfully presented the project to the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) and the community board. Additionally, I addressed RFIs related to my scope of work, contributed to SHPO presentations, and supported Tax Credit applications, ensuring full compliance with historic preservation requirements.I conducted COMcheck calculations to ensure the project met energy code requirements for the new addition.Throughout the project, I utilized Revit to coordinate with a multidisciplinary team, including historic preservation and acoustical consultants, MEPF engineers, landscape designers, lighting designers, and the in-house interior design team. I worked closely with vendors, the contractor, the client, and the envelope consultant to ensure all project elements aligned seamlessly. -
Registered Architect (Ny-2020) - Technical CoordinatorPerkins+Will May 2019 - Oct 2020Chicago, Il, UsSan Mateo Medical CenterNew building facade design and details in coordination with envelope consultant, structural engineer, and interior architect.Genentech Clinical Supply CenterLocated at 680 Forbes Blvd in South San Francisco, Genentech Clinical Supply Center is a 79,915 SF Class A industrial building. The project is a new prototype for Genentech’s new innovative manufacturing facility with its supporting office spaces and labs. In addition to the manufacturing, office, and lab spaces, newly introduced to the building program, a multifunctional corridor surrounds the manufacturing zone for immersive tours to showcase Genentech’s history and innovations to visitors of diverse backgrounds, from government officials to patients. Genentech follows good manufacturing practices and has sustainability and healthy building design guidelines for different building types within their campuses. They also have a comprehensive campus design guideline to provide healthy, efficient, and productive workspaces. In addition, we had design meetings with their multidisciplinary subject matter experts during the design phase to explore the best solutions for their new flexible prototype building and contribute to their future campus planning goals. Senior DesignerDhd Architecture, Pc May 2018 - Feb 2019New York, New York, UsLIC Co-living - Urban Link - E.Co-living300,000 SF Mixed-use residential development with commercial amenities to reshape Long Island City's lifestyle with a vibrant urban streetscape and multi-layered lush rooftop gardens.Located in Dutch Kills, Queens, within a ten-minute public transit commute to Grand Central, LIC Co-living Space was a design exploration for a developer who aimed to add value to the up-and-coming neighborhood. The building offers diverse residential unit types with extensive amenities for newcomers of various socio-economic backgrounds. It has large green spaces in the elevated courtyard, connecting streets on both sides of the building, creating a public space for the neighborhood. It also has a communal intensive roof garden for the residents to improve their quality of life and building energy performance while reducing stormwater runoff. • Communal living with extensive amenities in the proximity of Midtown Manhattan • Elevated courtyard above parking spaces. • Commercial spaces and amenities surrounding parking spaces on the first and second floor • A diverse mix of residential unit types for newcomers from all socio-economic backgrounds • Affordable two- and three-bedroom bedrooms with shared kitchenette and bathroom • Communal extensive roof gardens on multiple levels provide quality of life, improved energy performance, air quality, reduced stormwater runoff, and heat island. • Luxury micro-units with kitchen and dedicated roof garden Feasibility studies, conceptual design, and presentation. Royal Hawaiian Flagship Store Tiffany & Co. flagship store at the Royal Hawaiian Center is a highly complex high-end project consisting of a three-level, 11,000-square-foot space to showcase iconic engagement rings, cherished gifts, and visionary jewelry. It has luxurious interior and exterior finishes, a three-level floating stone staircase with glass guardrails, interior landscape features, custom-designed chandeliers, and electronic displays built within 1/16” tolerances. Tiffany & Co. Moscow PetrovkaTiffany & Co. Petrovka is a two-story jewelry store in Petrovsky Passage in downtown Moscow. The historic building is an elite department store opened on Petrovka Street in 1906. The project included luxurious interior retail and event rooms, a feature stair, and exterior window renovations. Design development to construction.
