Essam worked as a developer of Beach Street's Documentum University, a detailed Documentum training program intended to retrain an experienced IT professional with little DCTM knowledge in DCTM 5 core products and applications.• Created system and training materials including Requirements Specifications, Installation Guides, and Detailed Design documents• Architected and implemented the Documentum University infrastructure. Essam performed as the technical lead on the implementation of Learning Management Systems through General Physics at the Department of Veteran Affairs and the Department of Energy.• Configured user interface and functionality of the out-of-the-box Plateau, which required extraction of the application EAR, modifying files and reassembling the application EAR.• Managed the data migration effort from existing government systems into Plateau, which involved running requirements gathering workshops, creating data templates, receiving and cleansing the data and importing into Plateau.Created an automated data feed process between multiple federal systems and the Plateau LMS requiring development of PL/SQL stored procedures, shell scripts to automate the process, and error handling and reporting.

Essam was a leading member of the Global Business Technology team at Pfizer. While there, he participated in developing, architecting, redesigning, and supporting several global pharmaceutical systems using Documentum.• Incorporated the business needs of multiple new groups created by Pfizer’s acquisition of Pharmacia into the system. Worked with clients to streamline and merge business processes.• Re-architected existing Documentum systems to accommodate new business groups and achieve a 100% increase in usage. The system was rolled out to Pfizer Country Offices worldwide.• Developed Visual Basic Client/Server application that interfaced with multiple Pfizer systems to import Adverse Event data and produce customized text files and PDF reports that were distributed to Pfizer Country Offices worldwide.• Made required programming changes and enhancements while acting as a Tech lead, mentoring other developers.• Monitored systems, performed required maintenance and tuning, fixed bugs, developed and implemented enhancements and upgrades.• Organized and ran weekly status meetings, managed QA processes and validation tasks with to report progress and status to management on all issues.
