There is a Ben Folds song titled "Mess". I heard him speaking about it once and he said, paraphrased, "I have now lived long enough, that I can't really explain it all to anyone new... they just have to pick it up from here." I am not sure how to tell you "about" me in 345 words, but here are a few highlights...I'm a Husband and a Dad and a Brother and a Son. I love playing basketball, working, traveling, and learning. I like that I am a really hard worker, and I love to build things. I know that you can do amazing things... I just know it. I like living in a world where humans stretch their potential.That's a bit of who I am... now for who I was:I played sports in high school. I have a fine arts degree from Kansas University.From the age 21-24 I was in a regional rock band.After that dream fizzled out a bit (thank goodness!), I trained myself to be a figurative bronze sculptor, and then spent a decade building that skill into a full time studio creating bronze monuments. I have installed bronze statues across the country.After laser focusing on that for a while, I listened to an episode of the "Smart Passive Money Podcast, with Pat Flynn", and it gave me an idea. So, I started an e-commerce brand in 2014. Thanks to Amazon's growing fulfillment network, my indefatigable work ethic, and a whole bunch of lucky breaks, we sold that brand to Private Equity Firm, Perch in 2021. In 2021, after seeing an instagram ad, I purchased a 4K Weeks poster. It's a poster that shows your life in weeks. Each square is one week, and you fill them in as each week passes. It is an amazing memento mori practice. I loved it, it jived perfectly with my life philosophy.And so, in 2022 when the brand popped up for sale, I bought it, and began sharing my thoughts on life with our 30,000+ customers.These days I am focused on helping people squeeze the juice out of their weeks, and I still make a bronze sculpture every now and then.I didn't write this with an AI's help..."not that there's anything wrong with that!"
