An innovation officer helps set up new services and products that facilitate and support the road to Smart Factories and add value to our customers. As a product owner, I facilitate my R&D team that has been working on ROXY; a potential break through for controlling industrial robots and their interaction with other software and hardware, and continue to improve both internal and external processes. RoXY combines industrial hard- and software, while using state-of-the-art IT solutions. My job allows me to sit with the end-users and think about their production processes the one day, and have a strategic session about the future of Industrial Automation the next, while in between working hands-on on the upcoming generation of Smart Products in the Industry.

Since march of 2016, I have the pleasure of working in a unique environment between R&D and operations with ENGIE Services: Industrial Automation. As a Smart Industry Consultant I give direction to, on the one side, a new robotics division as a response to the question of flexibility and efficiency in fast changing markets. On the other side is Research and Development, in which my team and I are working on new and innovative ways to introduce efficiency, speed, usability and flexibility in automation projects. I help steer the research away from dead ends and guide it towards solutions that suit the Smart Factories that are undeniably striding towards our near future. My job allows me to sit with the end-users and think about their production processes the one day, and have a strategic session about the future of Industrial Automation the next, while in between working hands-on on the upcoming generation of Smart Products in the Industry.

- Study-promotional jobs, informing new students about the study Industrial Design, both upcoming bachelor students and master students - Study-promotion management, answer to study-promotional calls from high schools, finding people willing and able to perform workshops and creating those workshops- Educational counselling jobs for the course Model Making, Workshop assistent (woodworking, common workshop tools, prototype advisement)- Aiding in workshop lectures about strength and stiffness in practice for first year students- TwenteAcademy: administrative work, from answering calls to connecting all related people working on courses offered by Twente Academy. Most courses were offered to high school students who want to brush up vital skills before entering a study at the University of Twente.
