Alacrity Institute is a public policy and research institute founded in 2023 by political scientists who identified a societal need to improve public dialogue on issues in the public domain.The mission of the Alacrity Institute is to equitably coordinate a comprehensive set of research and services aimed at enhancing positive public dialogue on civic issues.The Alacrity Institute is dedicated to promoting civic engagement, fostering positive political discourse, and providing non-partisan leadership training. Its establishment aims to shift the focus from negative political discourse to constructive dialogue centered around issues. Primary activities include conducting research on positive discourse strategies, creating educational resources and toolkits, and offering training workshops.The research activities of the institute are multifaceted and ongoing. They involve studying past and present political campaigns to determine the most effective strategies in promoting issue-focused discourse. The findings from this research are compiled into accessible resources, such as reports and online materials, made available to the public and other interested parties.Additionally, the Alacrity Institute designs and conducts training programs to support advocacy groups and individuals in engaging positively in issue-oriented electoral activities. These workshops cover various topics, including strategic communication, public engagement, and discourse management. The goal is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to run positive and effective campaigns that prioritize issues over personal attacks or negative rhetoric. Through these activities, the Alacrity Institute aims to promote social welfare by enhancing the democratic process and fostering a more informed and engaged public.While Alacrity Institute engages in issue advocacy and public education, it may also participate in some political activities.

Elected to serve 6000+ students of Unified School District 383 Manhattan-Ogden and be a mindful steward of the taxpayers investment. -Work with board members to provide a vision. -Strive to balance growing needs with limited resources and uncertainty from Kansas Legislature.-Problem solving and consensus building within local government -Provide Testimony and direct advocacy to the State and Federal Government leaders. Board meetings are on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Robinson Education Center, 2031 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan. The meetings are open to the public and we encourage your participation. Education is critical to the future of our state and our nation. I invite you to work alongside the Board and our dedicated teachers, staff and administration as we prepare our students for that future.
