CtoProjo May 2019 - Mar 2022Berlin, Be, Deprojo is a SaaS ERP provider for planning offices (architects & engineers).I started as the first employee when projo had only 8 clients and just above 100 users.I'm responsible for the technology department, though I've done much more. During the first years I was also involved in sales, marketing, product, support and on-boarding.I encouraged the formation of a users community, which is now central to projo.Besides developing new features and contributing in their design (especially in areas like searching, visualization and business management), I developed an orchestration infrastructure for growing the backends according tho the state of the queues.Developed many tools for managing the system and visualizing its data and state; was responsible for the new web page, also helping with its implementation.I'm also in charge of data migration, designing different tools for this task, which requires a lot of manual work and communication, as it requires to understand the semantic of the data stored in some probably unknown system.I've already learned a lot about growing a boot-strapped StartUp. I'd like to thank Benedikt Voigt for that.I also learned a lot about managing planning offices, specially architecture offices in Germany with a paramount of specialities. And for that I'd like to thank all projo clients, which are the most valuable asset projo has. -

Senior Software Engineer Team Lead365Farmnet Feb 2015 - Mar 2019Berlin, Berlin, De365FarmNet is a leading Company in precision Farming.I've been responsible for two five-members central teams (crops and geo-information systems) composed of fronted and backend developers. This task involved performance reviews, goals definition, team development, talent acquisition.I've also been working as a system architect responsible for the architectural decisions in the teams and member of the architectural board, where more general architectural decisions were made. Also worked as full-stack developer (Spring/Jboss/angularJS/angular) and team support (docker/swarm, linux environment).I also provided support for strategic and tactical decisions to the product management dept. In this time I could develop a deep knowledge about agricultural processes. I'm very grateful to 365FarmNet for this opportunity.I think personal development is very important and introduced in the company TechTalks and other knowledge sharing events.I also think that 5-10% of the working time should be employed in developing the way of working itself. As a consequence of this I've develop a myriad of tools for shortening development, testing and deployment times. -

Computer ScientistFreie Universität Berlin Sep 2012 - Apr 2013Berlin, DeMeteorology Dept.I supported the infrastructure development for the MiKlip Project by development a framework used for performing statistical analysis of decadal climate forecasting. The system is designed for collaborative working by allowing users to store, analyze, edit and share all performed steps as well as their results. I also developed a search infrastructure that acts as a file system and integrates into the bash shell including auto-completion support with configurable and extendable crawler and a Solr backend. -
Computer ScientistMax Planck Society Mar 2010 - Aug 2012Munich, DeI worked for the institute for Meteorology in Hamburg, the super computer and other resources were managed by the DKRZ (Deutsche Klima Rechenzentrum), where my office was located.I was responsible for the IT infrastructure for the IPCC CMIP5/AR5 projects at the German High Performance Computing Centre for Climate- and Earth System Research (DKRZ), which involved the commissioning, maintenance and development of the data node, for storing Petabytes worldwide, and the gateway, for providing data access with decentralized authentication and authorization mechanisms.I also acted as a proxy for the DKRZ in the ESGF committee and development tools to help in virtual research environments (e.g. by supporting the community with bash scripts that simplified the data management, download and updates, and security certificates management). -
Software EngineerProjektor.De Feb 2008 - Jan 2010The "Autostadt" in Wolfsburg, Germany, is a Theme Park from Volkswagen, where visitors may experience the latest technologies.I continue and extended the development of one game in this park.I inherited the project when the previous sole developer left. I updated the code base to the current state of technology and documented it (a bit). I built a small team with other two part time developers. Together we extended the number of users two 4, added score-boards, a world editor and a new larger world over two projected walls and many more features (extended animations, fonts, etc).I took the wrong decision to remain in Java3D. At the time it got a major upgrade and the promise that they would start releasing more often... sadly, that never happened.
