Senior Mechanical Engineering student at The University of Houston with interests in R&D. I have extensive hands on experience from multiple car and motorcycle projects and a warehouse leadership role where I managed the tasks of my fellow co-workers and correlated closely with Quality and Production managers. I was responsible for performing hydrostatic pressure testing and eventually performed my own time studies in order to improve production processes and reduce chance of injury. I have experience building, testing, and calibrating mechanical systems through professional and extracurricular projects. My internship experiences have allowed me to gain design and process engineering experience from developing intercool transition systems to adapt onto in-service engines, to developing standardized processes for producing work documents such as job aids and work instructions. I've also gained excellent communication experience by working closely with customers to troubleshoot failures and produce plans of action. Through self-pursued projects I've learned to program micro-computers such as Arduinos and learned multiple coding languages such as Python and C++. I have also practiced modeling using Solidworks and NX to produce functional 3D printed components to be used throughout my day to day living, such as repair pieces for shop vacuums and air ducts to be used as passthroughs between interior to exterior walls. As a senior engineering project, I am working within a team closely with a company customer to produce a design solution to reduce the production failure rates of parts and lower the chance of injury. This solution is based on the customers needs and manufacturing limitations. I've researched multiple material candidates through engineering handbooks and performed Finite Elemental Analysis to produce a prototype in which non-destructive validation testing will take place before a final product is delivered. By having been involved from the hands on technician stand point to design, modeling, and process engineering, I've built a skill set that has allowed me to understand the beginning to end process of product manufacturing. I am looking to continue to grow this skill set through valuable experiences as a full time Mechanical Engineer to become a powerful and well-rounded engineer capable of pushing industry standards.
