I have over eight years of experience in the manufacturing plant environment. My new focus is in Software and Web Application Development. I have graduated from the SMU Full Stack Coding Bootcamp. I have learned various skills from CSS and HTML on the front end to Node.js and MongoDB in the back end. I really enjoy working in the ReactJS framework but can also work with handlebars and am interested in learning more frameworks and packages.My interest in software and web development have stemmed from enjoying working with and being around computers. Throughout my career, I have always been interested in learning more about how systems work, especially electrical and computer systems. I was always quick to pick up on how new HMI systems and programs worked while out on the floor as a maintenance professional. I would read manuals and complete training purely to learn for my own benefit. I would then impart what I learned to fellow maintenance team members and maintenance mechanics that reported to me. In each company I worked, from Pepsico, to General Mills, I involved myself with the controls technicians and learned how the equipment worked from the control logic side. I armed myself with this knowledge when making improvements to the productions lines that would last as well as more quickly make any repairs that may be needed. It was truly enjoyable experience to learn how and why a certain conveyor sped up to match the bottling rate of a Krones machine or even something as simple as what caused an arm to push a case of food onto the next pallet.At home, I am custom PC building enthusiast and avid gamer. I also mine crypto on the side. I am at home when around computers and electronic systems. I make sure my PC has the most up to date parts as they are available. I also enjoy tabletop wargaming. Especially, the Warhammer universe and all the lore that entails with it. I am part of an active community and one of the senior members. This is a highly social hobby where players buy, build and paint small miniatures. They then use them to construct armies that they pit against one another in chess style match up. There is a worldwide community of players who play in tournaments of which the local Dallas group takes part in. I recently developed a web app that allows the tracking of Warhammer matches. It is free to anyone who wants to try it. It makes use of ReactJS, node.js, MongoDB and express. It allows each user to separately sign up, insert, and track their games and match rounds. It is one example of what coding has allowed me to accomplish.
