I work at the intersection of sustainability and brand. I am a champion of purpose, putting values into action and driving shared value. I see this as a powerful force for good, a combination that benefits all stakeholders – employees, customers, suppliers, partners, local communities and the environment. I like to say that I was green before green was cool. I started this professional journey in 1996 when I helped create America Recycles Day (Nov 15) - that was the bug that created a lifetime of interest in a career I am passionate about. I helped build EnviroMedia with its founders (I was employee #1) into a 65-person, 3 office advertising and PR firm that only worked on environment and public health campaigns/clients. I led Don't Mess with Texas, created the State of Texas's tobacco prevention campaign and guided Dell's national electronics recycling tour. I even created and ran Green Canary - EnviroMedia's sustainability consulting arm.Working for Dell gave me an opportunity to see the ESG space from a different viewpoint. While there, I created Dell's circular economy strategy and helped build its climate strategy. I championed Dell's biodiversity efforts and led its 25,000-person Planet ERG for 5+ years. I worked across the business to drive sustainability into the core culture at a dynamic company with the ability to truly affect sustainability on the global stage.National Instruments provided a new challenge - to build sustainability from the ground up. Since joining this great organization, I've built our climate strategy and goals, expanded our ESG reporting, guided the circular design strategy and begun the exciting work of driving our ambitious 2030 goals.My strengths:Unicorn: uniquely right- and left-brained, easily speaking tech with engineers or design with creatives.
