I was originally hired at FUSE to be a segment producer on a weekly Hip-Hop show. Now, going on five years later, I’ve played may roles at the network including; On-Air Talent on a weekly countdown show called Top 20 for 2 years, a Series Creator, a Digital Producer, a Shooter, an Editor and a Writer for both television and articles featured online. I would pitch everything from series ideas to short form creative and once it was green lit I’d then work with the other departments, like Production Management, Social, Talent Relations, etc., to execute the creative.

Chris Brown hired me to document the recording process of his Grammy Award winning album Fame. One of the goals of this project was to capture the reaction and energy of people hearing his song "Beautiful People" for the 1st time and turn it into a viral music video. We achieved that goal and more. During my time with Chris I got to know him on a deeper level so I pitched him the idea of doing a web-series where his fans can get to know him personally like i had. I started out with Atlantic by taking footage of the behind the scenes of music videos and turning them into content. From there I was hired to shot, edit and produce the behind the scenes content from beginning to end. Eventually I gained the trust and respect of Product Managers and the Manager of Video Content there and was given the opportunity to help come up with the creative around the viral videos for various album projects. This working relationship lead to me getting the job with Chris Brown.

After a year or so of honing my skills by helping senior segment producers I got my chance during a very busy Spankin' New Music Week. As a segment producer for TRL I got to put my nerd like knowledge of music and my goofy sense of humor to work! The challenge I learned to master was delivering new and interesting information to our audience in a fun and entertaining way. For example taking Jay-Z lyrics with deep meanings and having him expound upon them in a game I called Jigga what?!?

After earning a PA spot on the TRL Production Team raising up from internship status I was the happiest kid on earth! I made it to the big league! However that wasn't the finish line but where my career would start. 1515 Broadway in Times Square at the MTV Studios was pretty much where I lived. I was a sponge soaking up as much information and new skills as I could. All I wanted to do was learn and help make my team and TRL the best it could be. Unbeknownst to me what I was becoming was an MVP. From 2004-2008 I would learn how to run an edit, become an editor, write interview question, shoot, field produce, and eventually segment produce.
