My purpose at Momchilovich Drywall, was to update the companies OSHA compliance. While working on this project, I was my own manager. I did research using mostly the OSHA website, designed project goals based on compliance, and then assured that the company was OSHA compliant by the time I left.To assure compliance, I compiled all the chemicals that the company uses, downloaded nearly 200 different MSDS sheets for those chemicals, and had those sheets bound into several MSDS books, which were distributed.In addition, I designed a training program that covered 5 different topics that were the most relevant hazards to the employees of the company. After putting together different power point presentations based on OSHA guidelines, I gave several safety presentations to about 20 workers each time.Lastly, the office manager and I set up safety equipment tests to ensure that all the masks used by employees fit and worked properly.

The Brickhaus is a coffee shop with a menu and a full bar, and it prides itself on its hometown customer service. While I worked there our busy lunch rushes gave me the opportunity to improve my teamwork and customer service skills, and it enabled me to demonstrate responsibility through closing the shop, handling cash, and training new employees.

One of the biggest challenges at The Sweet Spot was its popularity. I remember so many lunch rushes where there would be a line of people out the door. In those situations, we had to produce coffee drinks and lunch items as fast as possible, without sacrificing quality, all the while serving customers politely and with a smile.

In addition, I learned Spanish, on the job.The other thing I learned about myself is that I work well under pressure, and I prefer to work in a busy environment. I remember feeling quite satisfied rushing to fill orders at the last minute or dealing with unexpected situations.
