About Esther Alexis

As a current Mathematics Department Chairperson, Instructional Leader, and MathematicsEducator within the New York City Department of Education at Uncommon Charter High School, I seek a role outside of the traditional school setting where I can make a difference in instructional design, teacher leadership, and curriculum development. I hold New York State Teaching Certification in Mathematics (Grades 7-12) a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. With a wide range of education leadership experience, mathematics content knowledge, and teaching experience, my versatility, attention to detail, and technology skills make me a strong candidate for your company’s needs.Serving a diverse learning population of students over the course of my career has given me a set of transferrable skills that make me a great fit for the position. I am highly organized, time efficient, flexible, articulate, and technology savvy. My teacher leadership, instructional planning, and curriculum development is based on the analyzation of student and school data from formal assessments, standardized testing, formative and summative assessments, and informal observations for a comprehensive approach to instruction. I write, prepare, and amend standards-based lessons based on academic and behavioral data utilizing technology for differentiation, creating multiple entry points to learning, fostering student engagement, and promoting 21st century learning skills. I effectively prepare students for a lifetime of success both within the school setting and in the life they lead.In addition to my teaching, I have had the opportunity to lead a team of Instructional Leaders whileserving as a model to educators as Mathematics Chair.
