As a current Mathematics Department Chairperson, Instructional Leader, and MathematicsEducator within the New York City Department of Education at Uncommon Charter High School, I seek a role outside of the traditional school setting where I can make a difference in instructional design, teacher leadership, and curriculum development. I write, prepare, and amend standards-based lessons based on academic and behavioral data utilizing technology for differentiation, creating multiple entry points to learning, fostering student engagement, and promoting 21st century learning skills. I effectively prepare students for a lifetime of success both within the school setting and in the life they lead.In addition to my teaching, I have had the opportunity to lead a team of Instructional Leaders whileserving as a model to educators as Mathematics Chair. Providing new and seasoned educators withresearch-based feedback, technology support, and curriculum development demonstrates my successful leadership and commitment taking initiative beyond traditional teaching duties. With my undergraduate training in pure Mathematics, my knowledge of real-world mathematical applications has contributed to my ability to connect to my superiors, colleagues, and students alike.
