The eight-week intensive program is designed for scholars who want to pursue a doctoral degree. I gained further understanding on research methodologies and techniques while working hands on with a variety of highly skilled staff and faculty mentor. The program is structured to enforce research presentation skills and methods for preparing accredited research. I developed the skills necessary for formulating an in-depth research proposal following a symposium presentation.

As a tutor, I actively collaborated with the program to provide a safe haven for students after school. While working with other undergraduate students and highly trained staff, I provided a variety of children’s planned activities geared towards promoting the development of language, thinking and problem-solving skills, social competence and positive self-identity

As a mentor, I supported promising local high school students to stay on a path towards college. Through this experience, I learned how to effectively mentor Rutgers Future Scholars by addressing issues preventing capable and motivated high school students from pursuing their dreams of higher education.

Asa unit Counselor, I was responsible for planning and coordinating the activities of 20-30 campers and enforcing camp policies and procedures. This program gave me the opportunity to lead and participate with campers in all daily activities such; ropes course, water activities, and hiking. I gained the comprehension of working with Unit Leaders and other staff to provide a quality, fun camp programs during the summer.
