Master of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, areas of expertise: biomedical biotechnology and structural biology (Ghent University). Obtained my first project-related experience during my Master's thesis at the Flemish Institute for Biotechnology (VIB-UGent, Zwijnaarde) specifically in the research group concerning cell death and inflammation of the skin. At the moment I'm working at the biopharmaceutical company Ablynx, a Sanofi company, in Ghent. This company is dedicated to creating new antibody-based medicines. In my position at the CMC analytics department, I'm responsible for the in-depth quality analysis of different Nanobodies® during pre-clinical and clinical development. By doing this, I gained expertise in UV- and fluorescence spectroscopy, (U)HPLC chromatography techniques (RPC, SEC,...), mass spectrometry (Q Exactive™ Plus Hybrid Quadrupole-Orbitrap™ Mass Spectrometer) and associated software (Chromeleon, Genedata Expressionist, BioPharma Finder, ELN,...). I definitely see my communication and coordinating skills as a major advantage. During my training and career I came into contact with lots of different people and I easily get along. I was also a leader in the local youth movement. In such groups you get to know a lot of people and learn to organize activities, events,... Moreover, I easily adjust to new situations and I’m flexible, meaning that I don’t mind if meetings are cancelled or if a deadline changes. Besides that, I’m a driven person that usually copes with stress easily, I have an analytical mindset and I am a quick learner who likes challenges. In short, I am motivated, eager to learn and always looking forward to new opportunities.
