Currently working on the HYPERINTENSE study; a serial MRI study that aims to examine the effects of acute changes in blood pressure on brain (micro) structure and vascular function in young-middle aged adults with hypertension.

I am doing an internship under the supervision of prof. Joanna Wardlaw in Edinburgh. I am working on the analysis of the Lacunar Intervention Trial-1 (LACI-1) trial, a clinical trial in patients with lacunar stroke. The main focus of my project is the analysis of BOLD MRI scans to assess cerebrovascular reactivity, phase-contrast imaging to examine pulsatility and cerebral blood flow and using structural MRI scans to rate small vessel disease severity.

For my masters thesis, I wrote a systematic review about using diffusion tensor imaging in patients with Alzheimers Disease and mild cognitive impairment.

Masters research project that was focused on using ultra-high field MRI at 7 and 11.7T in small vessel disease. I was mostly involved in scanning (post-mortem) brains on both MRI scanners and analyzing the images. Moreover, I used a polarizing light imaging technique to examine white matter integrity in these brains.
