I am a Food Science and Technology graduate from The University of Uyo, with a keen interest in Cybersecurity. MY CYBERSECURITY JOURNEYIn August 2023, I decided to transition from a non-tech career to the Cybersecurity field and began applying for various programs. I got accepted into the Women Techstars Bootcamp, which ran for the span of one month. This program gave me an overview of the Cybersecurity field and solidified my convictions to pursue further learning.In March 2024, I got accepted into the CyberLearners Internship Program, a women-focused Cybersecurity program by Cybersafe Foundation.During this Internship, I undertook intensive training and acquired several certifications. Certifications and courses from the pre-requisite path included certifications from Cisco's Junior Cybersecurity Analyst path like Introduction to Cybersecurity, Networking Basics, Networking Devices and Initial Configurations, Endpoint Security, Network Defense and Cyber Threat Management. I also completed the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity course, ITIL4, IoT Fundamentals: IoT Security, CompTIA Linux+ and Microsoft's Administering Windows Server Hybrid Core Infrastructure.I enrolled in the SOC Tier 1/Incident Response path where I graduated as one of the top 3 fellows in my career path. I am excited about the strides I am making in the cybersecurity field.With a solid understanding of computer systems and networks, I am eager to further develop my skills in security operations, threat analysis, and incident response. I am eager to make meaningful contributions to a team committed to safeguarding against cyber threats.Key Skills:- Basic understanding of networking protocols, tools and operating systems (Cisco Packet Tracer, Nmap, Wireshark, Kali Linux, Windows OS) - Familiarity with security technologies like firewalls, IDS, and antivirus software- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001, ITIL4)- Familiarity with security concepts (Access Control Concepts, Business Continuity (BC), Disaster Recovery (DR) & Incident Response, Security Principles, Network Security, Security Operations)- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Excellent communication and collaboration skills- Eager to learn and grow in the field of cybersecurity.I am enthusiastic about expanding my knowledge and skills within the cybersecurity field.
